Is high-end outboard lost on mid-tier mics? Rather better mics than add outboard pre, eq, comp?

Oh yeah, I do! Love my KH120’s and well-treated room! Valid question/suggestion! I’m sure I could do better monitor-wise, like some big sexy ATC’s (the dream), but my Neumann’s continue to serve me and my humble little space well more than a decade in!

Studio Monitor Recommendations — Alternatives to the Genelec 8330

A comparable choice would be the Neumann KH 120 II. This model is front-ported and therefore can be placed right against a wall. Other than that they are very similar to the 8330 in performance and build quality.

Moving on from Adam A7x and looking for recommendations.

Skip the Kalis, get Neumann KH-120 II's, and don't look back.

Neumann monitors for studio question

i had a similar sized room and went with kh120s without the sub. honestly they have enough low end for most electronic stuff unless you're doing really deep bass design. the kh80s are great but might feel small in that space especially for vintage organ bass. if money's tight grab Neumann KH120 firs

Best bookshelf speaker setup up to 2.5k

Neumann KH 120 II. The perfect desktop speaker with the flatest frequency response you'll get. Perfect speaker engineering. Edit: https://www.spinorama.org/speakers/Neumann%20KH%20120%20II/ASR/index_asr.html Edit 2: And you'll have enough left over for the Kali WS-6.2 subwoofer. Job done.

Anyone else tired of budget monitors self-destructing due to planned obsolescence?

My Neumann KH120 have been kicking for the past 6 years and will continue to do so for a very long time I suspect!

You've already paid 4 figures. For less than the money you spent buying TWELVE disposable crappy speakers that are made to reach a specific marketable price instead of actual quality, you could have bought a single professional pair of speakers from Genelec or Neumann or Focal, for example. My Neuma

Upgrading to a more serious pair of monitors

Good question - i was going to add this but didnt have much time yesterday. The MA-1 calibration with Neumann helps by EQ correction, as well as phase and delay - which can be very helpful for subs. But you're right, you want to get the placement as flat as possible so it doesnt have to do so much c

Help with Nearfield Desktop Speaker Setup Between $1000-1500 (Roughly, Pre-Owned OK)

So the question must be: From which sources does your AI obtain its information? If we assume similarly weighted sources on the Internet, we see advertising on the one hand and forum posts on the other. Personally, this doesn't seem very meaningful to me. If I were you, I would familiarise myself wi
