Got the Musnap Neo (BW) out of curiosity, and I have some thoughts.
Will do! Also if your friend is interested in page turn buttons still, Musnap does sell a case for the Neo/Neo C that adds page turn buttons and it works well! But yeah, when I can I'll update you about the screensaver!

Why are B/W button devices dying out?
Musnap Neo with the button case is fantastic. Musnap Ocean is also very nice. I have that in the color version but it comes in black and white only as well. I use the Kindle app and Moonreader Pro on them and the experience is much better than my Paperwhite was.

All the Ereaders I want to buy are sold out!
I bought the Musnap Neo from Amazon. I liked it because it's cheap and it's not tied to any particular online service. I also bought the official cover for it that adds physical page turn buttons on the right side.
