I mean proton VPN is also allowed, I'm not sure you can do this with mullvad, but proton, you can pay in cash... Like mail them an envelope afaik

I tracked mulvad use with Find My IP for a week
That really pissed me off. I'd been using duckduckgo's free app tracking protection for a year and change, before hopping on the niche bandwagon that is Mullvad. It works, it does its job, and it's cheaper than every VPN I see ads for. I never saw an ad for Mullvad, and after reading their website I

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026?
I used to be on Mullvad (after being on ovpn.se for years) but then recently switched to Proton during last black friday because I needed to switch to a service with port forwarding for my Plex server and it is honestly so much better (not getting IP blocked as often, for starters). I already use Pr

Can't afford privacy.
You don't need to follow everyone, or even the usual recommendation. If you can't afford pixel for graphene, existing phone semi degoogle via adb should be just fine. If mullvad are too expensive, something like windscribe are cheaper. If proton are too expensive, mailbox.org posteo and probably gaz

Half the websites I normally use were wonky on Mullvad. Maybe I’ll try Proton because although Nord works well, I really don’t trust them.

Does running Tailscale at the same time as a VPN negate the encryption?
I like Mullvad's payment system better, but I got blocked on a HUGE amount of websites when I was using it. And also, paying for a VPN when I already have Proton Unlimited seemed goofy.

Any downsides to taliscale? Seems like an incredible amount of value for free
I couldn't make it play nicely with Mullvad no matter what I did, and I didn't want to be paying for two subscriptions just to add Mullvad to Tailscale (and keep using my existing subscription on all my other devices.) I also wasn't a fan of the identity provider model, so I moved to ZeroTier, which

Mostly because I already pay for ProtonVPN, so I don't want to also pay for Mullvad and the exit node capabilities. It gets expensive fast.

Proton is not worth it. If you value your money, I'd suggest more reliable companies.
Mullvad doesn't have a free plan, and Tuta's UI arguably sucks. Not to say that they aren't good, but Proton still has use cases.
