r/handhelds is the only video games sub I follow. I'm amazed at how many people are collecting countless similar handhelds. Like, why would you need three DS, or a MSI Claw plus a Steamdeck?

Recently got into handhelds, don’t know what to choose.
I miss the Ally X. Software was great. Gyro controls, easy form factor and use. 7 inches though was too small for my approaching 42 year old eyes. Text especially. The MSI Claw 8ai is amazing. Absolute worst software ever though. Like, Legion Space was pretty bad, but Center M is a joke. Handheld Co

Thinking of coming back to the Xbox Ally
I also had a bit of a buyers remorse after getting the Xbox Ally X due to the 7 inch screen, seeing how everyone praises 8 inch handhelds and the Lego 2.And I seriously considered selling it and getting MSI CLAW 8 AI+ just for the sake of the bigger screen. But then I found a spot that had the MSI Cl

I love the Steam Deck. Is it weird that I still prefer Phone + Gamepad for emulation?
VERY weird timing. I just sent back an MSI Claw I bought to give the windows handheld a try (have previously had a Steam Deck, sold it to a friend in need). I let the Claw go because it was a HUGE hassle software-wise and the phone gamepad combo was so much easier to just pick up and play. Not to me

Interesting revelation and shocking experience with Steam OS on ROG Ally X
MSI claw is no more portable than legion go 2. They are almost same. I had both of them.

MSI Claw 8 AI+ or Legion Go 2?
Large, heavy and next to no battery life. Poor ergonomics, too. Went from Legion Go to MSI Claw myself

Which handheld to get?
Based on your description, I would probably pick the Xbox Ally X. It’s probably the most comfortable out of all of them and it has Windows full screen experience out of the box to play 2k and EA Sports online. I haven’t tried it out myself. I recently bought the Lenovo Legion go 2 and plan to slap C

Any area or games in which Claw 8ai+ fails compared to other handhelds
Im in the same boat as you , trying to decide between the Xbox ally x and msi claw 8 ai.. like you said, on paper the msi claw is better. Current issues is that , msi has hall effect while the x box ally x doesn't. Im not sold on intel delivering game ready driver updates. The claw has been out a lo

Kepler says the portable PS6 is a 15W SoC on 3nm and wont be as powerful as the PS5
20w should've been the target. 15w whilst still having good performance won't be drastically different to the performance of current handhelds at 28w, even taking into account how bandwidth starved they are. Other PC handhelds have shown that the envolope can be pushed further in that formfactor and
