Anyone using those new Qualcomm ARM laptops? Worth it?
I've been using the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 which comes with the Snapdragon chip (X Elite), for almost a year now. For your use case, it will be perfect. The performance is also really good, flies through everything I use it for. App compatibility is also drastically improving every day. Photosho

Considering switching to Surface from Mac + iPad
Where did you get the info? The SoCs should at least be on par, with SD Elite performing much better in multi-core tasks while M4 handles single-core better. https://www.rtings.com/laptop/reviews/microsoft/surface-laptop-7th-edition-15-2024 vs. https://www.rtings.com/laptop/reviews/apple/macbook-pro

Is there a noticeable difference between Snapdragon X Plus (10-core) and X Elite (12-core)?
Yes, you'll hear the fans more often in a 13-inch X Elite. Besides that, not really since Windows on ARM still hasn't matured. If you want the X Elite, go for a 15-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 7.
