Two-year-old Surface PCs get $300 price hikes as sub-$1,000 models go away
An equivalent M5 MacBook Air now costs $400 less than a similarly specced Surface Laptop, and nothing in Microsoft’s lineup comes close to the MacBook Neo’s value-for-the-money. Apple, unironically the value choice now, especially with the Neo competing iwth cheap plastic shell Windows laptops.

Switch 2 Purchased From Walmart Arrived Empty
Yup. FedEx stole a Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio ($2.5K) delivery. Literally dropped an empty box that was hastily taped back closed on my doorstop. Best Buy refunded me, but not before I had to file a police report. Thankfully, I realized I didn't need that expensive a*s laptop anyway and went to

MKBHD's video about the Mac Neo feels like he purposely didnt mention Surface laptops. Instead used
I love surfaces but the Neo runs circles around them at a far lower price. Saying the Surface Laptop 7 is a “10x better laptop” is just straight up false. The closest Microsoft ever got to a Neo in their lineup was the Surface Go and Go 2, products which, in part due to windows and accessories-not-i

MKBHD's video about the Mac Neo feels like he purposely didnt mention Surface laptops. Instead used
I have the Neo and the Surface laptop 7 (and the latest surface Pro arm) No. The surface Laptop is not 10x a better laptop than the neo. Straight false. I am a fan of the whole Surface lineup, but Microsoft dropped the ball long time ago. Apple laptops since the M1 are much better, in both: value an

Microsoft launches Surface Laptop 5G pre-orders — reengineered from the ground up, and costs $1,799
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Surface Laptop 7 with 5G is not cheap. In fact, it's Microsoft's most expensive 5G product to date, starting at $1,799 for an Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage. The 5G variant is also only available in the 13.8-inch screen size and weighs around 3lbs. Au

Microsoft is officially cooked
Yeah. Microsoft probably doesn't remember the surface even exists. It's a side hustle for them. They keep launching random combos and then never follow up, like the surface go, surface laptop go

Two-year-old Surface PCs get $300 price hikes as sub-$1,000 models go away
Wow. I never thought I'd see the day when a Mac was the significantly cheaper option. Microsoft is practically shooting themselves in the foot with this. The comparable MacBook Air is so much better value it's actually funny. I would be surprised if Surface laptops are still around in a year or two.

Rumors about the Surface Laptop
Yes, and Microsoft is probably in an even worse position than one thinks, they already nuked the "regular" SP and SL under $1000 as of MAY 2025 - well before all the escalations with these prices started. Yes, they introduced the downgraded 2025 (worse than 2024) devices to take some space in the un

Thinking of grabbing Costco $750 Surface Copilot+ laptop — good for everyday personal use?
My two cents. Don't buy into the windows arm ecosystem yet. Part of the reason that computer is so cheap (just a guess) other than it being Costco, is because of the pain of using windows' translation layer. A lot of folks have been leaning away from them since they came out a little bit ago. Qualco

Still no US orders for the X1 Carbon Gen 14, five weeks later. What gives? …
Microsoft pulled a dick move of selling the same old Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models for $300 more, citing supply chain issues related to AI gobbling up everything. A 16 GB Snapdragon X1 laptop costs more now than it cost me two years ago which is insane. Maybe Lenovo's having the same kind of
