It's freaking terrible, I'm using Meze 109 Pro headphones on a Schiit amplifier and I've found myself tracking footsteps in the wrong direction, turning around and inevitably exposing myself and dying way too many times.

I wouldn't say "better hit", but will say that I get a different sound signature with tubes vs my SS amp. Just like you stated, it is a smoother tone. Don't be surprised. I made them aware of an issue with desktop mode not working on some devices, 4-5 months ago, yet they still think it does not exist. I even bought a second one that had the same issue and returned it right away! I should mention I experience the op's issue before on my Meze 109 p
