Meze 109 Pro is my favorite headphone under $1k, and the Empyrean II my favorite, period. Either will work well for classical music.

Meze 109 pro isn't an upgrade (it's dynamic drivers),, , if you like the Arya Stealth planars, the only way up is empyrean 2... I'm also currently on Arya stealth and want a Meze, but empyrean 2 is expensive and out of my budget,,,, maybe in a couple of years...

Yes. Most Mezes (under $1,000 at least) use a standard dual-entry 3.5 mm cable system. (For what it's worth, the Strada has REALLY excellent cables and the 109 Pro's are ... meh.)

Thank you! As anyone in the hobby knows, "endgame" is a myth :) So yes, I'm still experimenting. Most of these were bought second-hand on r/AVexchange to get to know my own preferences as well as different companies' sound signatures. Reviews can be misleading, and everyone's ears are different. Unfortunately between the color scheme. The identical chassis of the Liric and use of the 109 Pro driver this is a huge miss for me. The driver is the weakest in their lineup in my opinion. I’d be curious to hear if they’ve fixed the tuning but the color kills my curiosity. The worst aspect is the L

Yeah the game sounds great. I'm really into audio and game audio, so I've got some expensive headsets and it sounds incredible. My go to at the moment is the Meze 109 Pro.

I have the Meze 109 Pro, which should sound similar. I love the headphones, perfect for gaming and perfect for music. I like that the kickbass is pretty strong.

To be clear also, you don't have to prefer a neutral sound to be an 'audiophile' you just have to be obsessive about audio quality. Your tuning preference doesn't make you less than other people. My favourite headphone is the Meze 109 Pro but it it has a very 'fun' tuning. But at the same time, some

Gave my wife the ananda nano a few months ago and she really likes them over her OG ananda’s and focal elegia. I have the Arya Organic and I love them but I used to use the 660s2 for gaming (weight). The sennies are shelved after the Meze 109 pro entered my life. So much more comfortable and they so

I have a pair of Focal Elegia's that i'm forcing myself to use more. It needs heavy EQ and even then is almost impossible to get to a point where the vocals dont sound boxy or shouty anymore. For the money the Elegia is probably the worst headphone to buy, especially since you can get a Meze 109 Pro
