My father passed and had a ton of synth equipment

Firstly, I’m sorry for your loss. I sincerely hope you’re able to make a home yourself for as much of this equipment as possible. The Mackie HR824 powered speakers, for example, are some of the best ever released in that price rangeeasy on the ears, bass is low and tight, plenty detailed enough.

The bulk of the value here is in the modular gear. Finding one buyer to take it will likely take awhile unless you deeply discount the whole system. Parting out each module/cabinet will see it sell faster. Just look up the retail on synthesizers.com for each module and cabinet - ask 70% of that. You

Hardware you simply can't do without?

Sure, I used to use a pair of Mackie HR824 MK1's as my main monitors for years as I knew them very well, they sounded great and have a great low end. I would almost always get the low end right on my first mix but the mid range didn't always translate well to other sources. It took more work then it

home recording

Lots of home recording here. Constantly recording projects and dance scores and voice work in my home studio. (an example, https://ongoingbox.bandcamp.com/album/hsob070-watererer-nearly-there) I use Reaper as the DAW. It's always been very cheap and very flexible. It works well with Dell computers t

Editors, What kind of speakers are you using to mix audio with.

I still use mackie hr824’s (mk 1’s) with everything set flat. I’ve used them for years and when I have to mix in house, even for broadcast, I’ve never had a mix kicked back. You can find them used in your price range.

*UPDATE* KEF Demo Disappointment

said all I wanted to say... They like show room presenting speakers and that is totally valid... no need to do all the extra stuff. Mackie has had some decent to great monitors like the MR624, MR824, HR824 MK2s. I have zero experience with the Mackies he has listed though

Bought a JBL LSR310S and so stoked!

It doesn't surprise me that people would leave JBL for that reason. Same thing happened with AKG when Harman bought them (and so they went across the street and created Austrian Audio). Kalis sound fine, too. I don't know if having any serious conversation about this $300 monitor vs that $300 monito

And then there were...four?

A note on your lego Tux… Our Tux (AKA Nermal or Baby Nerms, as we dubbed him Nermal because, well, he was just so friggin cute when we found him and his brother on the side of a mountain road in Arkansas, abandoned at maybe three weeks old) has over time evolved to have his own shrine, with two diff

It’s not much, but it gets the job done! 😎

I think I can hear ya from my house! my neighbor is some late night club hit dj guy so when I blast him from my Mackie HR824's with hours of mechanical loopy techno he isnt bothered one bit, so I consider myself lucky for that.

Active 5.1 Studio Speakers Setup

I have a 7.2 system with Mackie HR824 active studio monitors for the 7 channels. They are connected to an Emotiva XMC-2+ A/V processor via XLR cables. The subs are a pair of JBL 2245H 18" drivers in 5 cu. ft. sealed enclosures driven with an Adcom GFA-555-ii amplifier. It's great for both home theat
