The Mackie CR3-X are really cheap. Can pick up a pair in Canada for around $150. Not bad sounding for the price. The KRK's are decent and so are the powered Yamahas which are both inexpensive. What Speakers Do You Use That Bring out the Sub Bass?
Recently got a pair of Mackie cr3-xbt bookshelf monitors. I play a range of music, from dnb to psytrance to techno and electro swing. The ranges in these very well priced speakers are more than adequate for home use and DJ practice
