From experience, I would say that this is likely due to out of date or incompatible Logitech mouse software. MX Keys S long term users

I’ll be honest... I absolutely love my MX Keys S. It’s a joy to type on and looks and feels great. On the other hand, I can’t stand the LogiOptions+ software; it’s bloated, messy, and a serious resource hog. If Logitech ever made it more stable and streamlined, I’d be thrilled.
