You can definitely use a keyboard though it has to be a compatible one. Try and get one with a USB receiver 'dongle' and plug that into the socket on the front of the console. its the MK270 keyboard and mouse combo. I was able to get a hold of logitech support and they confirmed that it uses a nano dongle meant for those specific devices. These devices are useless, but she's trying to look into solutions for me. It sounds so wasteful if there are no other solutions beside
