Online gaming with T-Mobile home internet is horrible..

I had exactly the same issue. Fixed it by adding another router with SQM, which eats some speed to fix the spikes. I have had consistent ~65ms ping to CS2, stable ping in warframe, and others too. Router recommendation that meets these criteria

The hardware might be a tad underpowered (but also might not) however the available features are impressive for an amazing price point imo. Very happy with the “Linksys E8450 (UBI)” if you can still get them (my 2 cents)

Decent sub-$100 openwrt-compatible router???

Belkin rt3200 or Linksys e9.... Can't recall the number but they are identical and awesome. Pick them up for $30-70 depending on eBay and Walmart.

OpenWrt 24.10.5 - Service Release - 19. December 2025

Luci attended sysupgrade is incredibly seamless and quick. I opened Luci, clicked upgrade, and it was complete before my youtube tab even paused to buffer. Linksys E8450 with no issues.

Best cheap router to use while ISP router is in bridge mode?

I have tried to find this in Indian market a lot. But it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find one. I don’t think its gonna be cheap. If thinking of most ideal way, then have separate router (nanoPi device or other similar device) + a WiFi AP. This will be atleast be 8-10k. Since you are looking

We Made a Simple LuCI App for OpenWRT to Easily Set Up a Batman-adv Mesh WiFi Network

You can use both wired and wireless backhaul with Batman-adv, and one of the wired routers on your switch should handle DHCP and act as the WiFi mesh server. That way, if your switch fails, the mesh can still function as a large "WiFi switch," ensuring connectivity. Batman-adv dynamically manages ba

Router recommendation for SQM on 300/300 Mbps connection?

Linksys E8450 (just barely good enough, I would certify it only up to 450 Mbps for PPPoE + SQM) Cudy TR-3000 (compact but powerful) GL.iNET GL-MT6000 (overkill)
