The MacBook Air M4 is the only laptop you should spend $1,000 on

Not here. Just quick Google search brings Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x with 16/512GB, Snapdragon X Elite SoC and 14.5" OLED screen for 999€ (normal price: 1400€), while 16/512GB 13" MBA costs 1500€. Since x86 is still the main platform on Windows, the Snapdragon (and other future ARM) laptops are probably go

Quick example project: local AI agent that reads news and saves to local notes on Snapdragon NPU

Microsoft’s Foundry Local now supports NPU models on the Snapdragon X Elite through the latest Windows 11 Beta channel. You can run these models directly from the terminal or within VS Code using the AI Toolkit. It even exposes an OpenAI‑compatible endpoint for inference. Foundry Local is essentiall

Are you generally happy with your Snapdragon laptops and Windows 11 on ARM?

I love it. I bought a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (X Elite/32gb ram) and I use it for writing articles and editing 4k (gopro) videos in Davinci. I love that battery life is 20 hours, when writing articles (davinci obviously kills it haha). The screen is bright and beautiful, the device is super light (I oft

Laptops comparable to macbook air m4

The closest you’ll get is a premium Snapdragon Elite X laptop if all the apps you need run on ARM. Something like the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x.

Slim 7x goes up for sale in various regions

Personal thoughts: I find it bizarre Lenovo does not include the 2.8K OLED by default with their top end model, they already pair it with 32GB RAM, they should've also included the better OLED unless it's a battery life concern. I also feel like going with a 6 core X2 Plus was too weak of a choice f

Should i get a snapdragon laptop for my computer science class

IF you don’t need to do any GenAI/ML stuff directly on your laptop, a Snapdragon laptop might actually work out pretty well. I’ve been forcing myself to use my base model Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x as my daily driver for the past 5 months (because I love to be a martyr), and things have gotten A LOT better

do arm laptops still got compatible issues?

The is an HP Omnibook 16 OLED 32/2tb for $999 and a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x 32/1tb for $999 at best buy with more capability than the Surface book 15 and no compatability issues.

The first Snapdragon X2 Elite (and Plus!) laptops from Lenovo leak

I think the slightly reduced battery life is a worthwhile trade personally. Since this is an OLED you really want a HiDPI "retina" screen because of the subpixel array. Text on FHD OLEDs looks blurry to me. But just in general, text and other elements on a HiDPI display look so crisp that I don't wa

VATSIM on ARM as a controller

Not sure about CRC, but i use Euroscope on a lenovo yoga slim 7x occasionally and it works. Takes a long while to load initially but while controlling its okay. TrackAudio works well, ive used audio for vatsim once i think and that also worked. I generally can't really recommend a laptop for control
