The first Snapdragon X2 Elite (and Plus!) laptops from Lenovo leak
I think the slightly reduced battery life is a worthwhile trade personally. Since this is an OLED you really want a HiDPI "retina" screen because of the subpixel array. Text on FHD OLEDs looks blurry to me. But just in general, text and other elements on a HiDPI display look so crisp that I don't wa

VATSIM on ARM as a controller
Not sure about CRC, but i use Euroscope on a lenovo yoga slim 7x occasionally and it works. Takes a long while to load initially but while controlling its okay. TrackAudio works well, ive used audio for vatsim once i think and that also worked. I generally can't really recommend a laptop for control

Slim 7x goes up for sale in various regions
Personal thoughts: I find it bizarre Lenovo does not include the 2.8K OLED by default with their top end model, they already pair it with 32GB RAM, they should've also included the better OLED unless it's a battery life concern. I also feel like going with a 6 core X2 Plus was too weak of a choice f

Are you generally happy with your Snapdragon laptops and Windows 11 on ARM?
I love it. I bought a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (X Elite/32gb ram) and I use it for writing articles and editing 4k (gopro) videos in Davinci. I love that battery life is 20 hours, when writing articles (davinci obviously kills it haha). The screen is bright and beautiful, the device is super light (I oft

Switching from Windows to MacBook Air M5 — any better Windows alternatives in similar budget?
check out the new X2 Elite laptops like Lenovo Slim 7x G11 or Asus or HP. or MS surface laptops, they should be released soon. —-> much better screens (OLED 120Hz). lighter! same battery duration. no ugly notch. better port selection. Windows on Arm is perfect for your setup. ( I run a tech startup)

ASUS Zenbook A16 with top end Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme (X2E-96-100) now available for $1999.99
Bought a family member a Lenovo Slim 7x with the original Snapdragon Elite. It's a solid laptop, good keyboard, face recognition, very nice OLED display, super fast, good battery life, full metal case. The Slim 7x with Snapdragon Elite 2 will be a beast.

Thinking of going ARM.
Try finding a Lenovo Yoga 7x slim on sale. It's one of the cheaper Snapdragon elite laptops with an OLED. I have one and it's an impressive laptop.

What is the main selling point for you when choosing Snapdragon over Intel/AMD? For me, it's the snappiness and fluidity of Windows on Arm. After experiencing that, it's impossible for me to go back to x86.
I got the Lenovo yoga slim 7x because it had an outstanding screen, fantastic keyboard, decent build quality, thin form factor, clean design + good battery life and CPU performance for around 1250 CAD. No other x86 laptops at the time of my purchase (July 2024) had all of these things that around th

The best laptop 2025
Best is subjective. For that budget, I would strongly advise getting 32gb of ram (Windows) and 24gb ram (Mac) but I would put these up on the list. The ones with hyperlinks would be my choice: Non-gaming thin and light traditional clamshell: MacBook Air M4 15" 24/512 Lenvo Slim 7i Aura Edition 32/1t

Anyone using those new Qualcomm ARM laptops? Worth it?
I'm using mine for browsing, youtube and some programming (Visual studio / C#). Very happy with it. I get about 10hours of runtime on battery. The screen is very bright and pretty to look at. It's a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (X1E8100 - 32GB). I would not recommend it if gaming is a must. I also think Linu
