Not the OP you replied to, but I think it was discontinued because Lenovo's primary buyers are businesses, and businesses don't want 5+ pound laptops with huge batteries sticking out of them. As much as we here in our Reddit echo chamber don't want to believe it, people that would rather have a heav

As a student, you might as well come back to MacBook - brand-new Neo is 850 CAD with education discount, or you should be able to find older M chip Air models under 1000 CAD second hand. You get Microsoft Office IIRC, good battery life, good bright screen (some ThinkPads model configs still somewhat

Tl;dr: I'd personally prioritise gen3 AMD (R7 Pro 6850u+ at least 16GB) over other gen(2) models or gen3 Intel. R7 Pro 6850u has massively better iGPU (about +80-100%: so for light gaming, gen3 should be much better) and a bit better watt efficiency (battery life), but the performance jump from its

Lunar lake will give you better battery life (depending on use case), while Ryzen AI is significantly faster. Both are a major improvement over tiger lake. I've owned machines with both and very similar specs aside from the CPU (13" 1920x1200 IPS screen, 32 GB RAM, ~55Wh battery, max screen brightne

you can find my post on the comparing thinkpads and their battery life and why I'm keeping the x280. suggestions: use throttlestop and see how low you can undervolt your CPU which can sensibly increase battery life. Pesonal: I hate hte huge frame so I replaced the 12.5" 16:9 with a great 13" 16:10 2

PTM7950 will be even better than MX-4. That was the very first thing I did the second I took my brand new X13 Gen 3 AMD out of the box. Either way, though, it doesn't appear that your temps are hurting performance. It is meeting the PL1 spec of 28W just fine. Laptop chips are designed to run between

I have a x13 gen 4 7540u, normal discharge rate (browser, pdf) is around 4-5 watts, and 2 watts on idle, ON LINUX. The same workload on windows is around 8 watts. Hence I suggest you give Linux a try, since I'm not sure whether your chip is just as optimised as mine.

The T530 could come with a 1080p panel from the factory. Even the much older T61 15.4" could come with 1920x1200 panels. The X230 doesn't have enough LVDS channels for even 1600x900 like a T430 could have. There was no reason to have them on the board as there were no 12.5" LVDS panels on the market
