I have a ThinkPad X1 Extreme from 2019 with an OLED screen, and I think the burn-in fear is a bit overstated. Mine does have some faint burn-in from a game I'd often have on for hours at a time, but even on a 6+ year old screen it's not that noticeable (pretty much only on a bright white background)

Don’t buy. The X1E Gen2 is horrible. It had a serious keyboard issue and many other drivers issues. I had one and Lenovo replaced it for a Gen3 under warranty (which I still have, and works okay).

I think the X1E is a solid choice. More keyboard travel. The CPU is more powerful than the X1C9's, the dGPU is nice if you have use for it and WON'T shorten battery life if you don't use it. When I mention drivers I am talking about the Lenovo drivers. I've tried the X1E driver from Lenovo (unedited) and it does not work. It just gives basic PS2 mouse functionality.
