Comparison between the best
ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 with Core Ultra 9 285HX and RTX 5000 Pro P series, but not the -s models, those are rebadged T14/T16 besides few exceptions Depends on the market, your budget and performance needs. Generally, P series will be the answer. FYI P series battery life isn't impressive. P16 and older P

Why isn't there much love for the Thinkpad T16? Too big?
I used to swear by larger laptops until I sized way down from a W540 to an X13 Gen 3. I don't miss the number pad, certainly not more than I enjoy my laptop weighing barely over 2 pounds. And, crucially, the functionality between Lenovo's 12/13" and 14-16" laptops is largely the same, with the excep

MacBook of the Linux World
I have a ThinkPad X1 Extreme from 2019 with an OLED screen, and I think the burn-in fear is a bit overstated. Mine does have some faint burn-in from a game I'd often have on for hours at a time, but even on a 6+ year old screen it's not that noticeable (pretty much only on a bright white background)

New Laptop Suggestions for heavy SPSS and MPlus use
I have been using a LENOVO ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 for five years and been very satisfied with it. It came with 64gb of RAM, which is way more than I need, although I did run something that used all of it once or twice. The best add-on for me was an external monitor so I have two screens.

Thinkpad P1 gen 7. Impressions.
I am pretty new to this computer. My previous computer (ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3) also had an OLED and I never had a problem with the OLED. I am a doctoral student, so I spend lots of time looking at text; if it was blurry, I would notice. The screen on this new one is better. They put a slight mat

X1C7 display upgrade: TL140BDXP01-00 vs B140QAN02.0
I have the TL140BDXP01-00 panel in three of my ThinkPads, two T480s's and one X1C6. I am extremely happy with it. A few days ago I just received my fourth one, which will be going in my new T25 FrankenPad project. 300 nits is on the lower side of modern displays, but in my opinion still acceptable.

I replaced the FHD display in my X1 Extreme 2nd Gen to a 144hz panel
Interesting that the X1E2's are that much cheaper. On the used marked here, the X1E2 is typically listed around $600. I got mine very cheap, I bought two of them for $315 from the same seller, one was "broken" but the repair was free as it turned out the touchpad PCB had some debris on one of the co

Atrocious Battery life - sold a dream Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3
I think this sounds normal right now with what you're describing (5-6 hours of battery life). Did you do the fresh install? What are the specs of the laptop by the way? I have a 2.8K OLED 90hz, 70W hr battery, X1E 12 core. 5-6 hours was normal for me the first few days of firing up the laptop. Once

Why is the X1 Carbon considered the most premium ThinkPad?
Sorry, but the T14s is not ultralight. 1.25 kg is not in the same category as something below 1 kg. And no, the X13 is not the real flagship model. It is a 13-inch screen that is much more limited in many ways. Also, I think the P series is a fair comparison because the X1 Carbon is marketed the fla

New laptop help
Don't buy that system. The 6th gen i5 should only be used by people who want to use Linux. Look for used laptops, or even ones that have really nice displays but not the highest end hardware. I found a used ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 that's within your price range. It has an OLED panel, meaning that
