I second the ThinkPad P1. You would want the P1 instead of an X1 extreme. The P1 is a true workstation system with professional grade nvidia graphics that have ISV certifications for the apps you'll be using for your engineering stuff. I have a ThinkPad X1 Extreme from 2019 with an OLED screen, and I think the burn-in fear is a bit overstated.
