Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 14 up for sale on U.S. site

These are super premium high end Windows systems. For the price, if you don't need Windows you can get an a MacBook Pro, and those systems absolutely scream. At the moment though, Lenovo hasn't made most configurations available so you're stuck with mostly low-end processors and worse integrated GPU

Setelah 5 tahun, dijual sekaligus ratusan. Harga setelah penyusutan sudah "Rp 0". Dijual berapa pun, kantor tetep "untung" dan masuk ke "other income". Jadi dijual murah, dengan kondisi

Thinkpad T14S Gen 5 - Why aren't there a lot of reviews for this version?

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14s-Gen-5-laptop-review-The-premium-T-ThinkPad-with-Intel-Core-Ultra.866472.0.html 165H should be better, but less battery life (comparable to Zen 3 IIRC?). Not sure how it cools the 165H. T14s positioning is horrible in recent gens, especially Intel, a

What laptop to get for remote working lawyer?

I use a thinkpad x1 carbon with a touchscreen I bought at microcenter. I’m a former computer engineer turned patent litigator and I lean on it about as much as you could imagine. The GPU can run several 4K panels if I want. Chassis is also solid and the output ports are unlikely to flake out by the

Apple Macbook Pro M1 switch to something like it in design and functionality

There's nothing quite like Apple computers out there but there are competing ones where you get different trade-offs. Look into Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon for lightweight high-end laptop or ThinkPad T14 for something repairable. Both of these work with Linux and Windows and are amazing devices.

Apple Macbook Pro M1 switch to something like it in design and functionality

The best option still is to use what you have. Maybe install Asahi Fedora Linux on it? But as for alternatives, I think Asus Vivobook (or Zenbook, iirc that's their flagship) 14 OLED is aluminum and Dell XPS 13 as well. Then there's ofc the new Framework 13 Pro. Lenovo X1 Carbon series is pretty gre

Worried about X1 Carbon Gen 14's Battery Life (Should we get a Gen 13 when we still can?)

You need to forget about that X1 Carbon Gen 10 and Alder Lake. Last year's Arrow Lake H CPUs were also in the same performance class as Arrow Lake P and those, while not quite as good as Lunar Lake, were also not that far away from Lunar Lake in terms of efficiency - which makes sense, as they used t

Why do people generally buy Carbon X1 when they are so ridiculously expensive?

I bought my X1 Carbon Gen 10 in 2023 not because it's the fastest. I travel a lot usually backpacking for months at a time and weight is a very important consideration. It's also sturdy and well built. Good battery life on Linux. At the time my top contenders were X1 or Dell XPS 13. Having Linux ins
