ThinkPad T1g Gen 8

They advertise the laptop with unsupported speeds. I dont think this is ethical. The specs quite clearly state: "Memory Type LPDDR5x-7467, maximum transfer speeds of up to 7467 MT/s, 16GB / 32GB / 64GB memory modules are available" and "Gen 5 SSD on M.2 PCIe® 4.0 slot will run on PCIe® 4.0 protocols

They have not posted the 26/27 laptops yet but for most engineering students this is the recommended model/specs Lenovo ThinkPad T16 (gen 4) AMD Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350 Processor 16" WUXGA, IPS, Anti-glare, Touch, 400 nits, Display 32 GB DDR5 Memory 1 TB M.2 SSD 5 MP RGB+IR Camera Fingerprint Reader 86 W

You might consider the ThinkPad T1g Gen 8. It has a gaming GPU instead of a professional GPU (more expensive, less powerful, certified drivers for CAD/CAM used to be called Quadro). It's designed for creators. The 5070 option might be a bit too hot for that chassis, but the 5060 base model should be
