Need help choosing a new laptop - battery life is my #1 priority
Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 with Snapdragon has the craziest battery life of all ThinkPads. Over 20 hours.

AMA: Thinkpad T14 Gen. 6 (AMD) vs. MacBook Air M2 after 9 days
Lunar Lake does well at idle or low load, when most processes run on the e-cores. Fire up the P-cores and things go downhill quickly. It's a decent chip when you're not doing much but the high price makes it less attractive for consumers and the low (nonexistent?) margin for Intel makes it bad for b

X1C gen 13 vs T14s gen 6 vs ?
I like using notebook check reviews, as they provide a pretty consistent way of comparing laptop chassis temps between models https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14s-Gen-6-laptop-review-The-AMD-version-returns-with-the-Ryzen-AI-7-Pro-360.923414.0.html#c12324992 https://www.notebookcheck.n

The first Snapdragon X2 Elite (and Plus!) laptops from Lenovo leak
CRD stands for Compute Reference Device. It's the vibrant red laptops Qualcomm uses at events, they are internal development machines yeah. It's my guess that the CRDs might run Linux better than any consumer laptop because if you look at the patches Qualcomm posts they nearly always mention the CRD

State of Debian on Snapdragon X Elite?
Debian 13 works great if you are willing to take some manual steps to intstall it. I followed a workflow similar to: Boot into Ubuntu Concept for Snapdragon. manually partition your disk. Install base Debian using debootstrap: https://wiki.debian.org/Debootstrap reboot & configure wifi with nmcl set

SOS! Pick one: T14s Gen 6 - Snapdragon Elite vs. Intel Ultra 5 vs. Intel Ultra 7
Go for the Snapdragon. I've got the T14s Gen 6 model and battery life is phenomenal even with the electron-guzzling 2.8k OLED screen. 15 hours is doable on my config whereas the IPS LCD model gets over 20 hours on most battery benchmarks. Performance is close to MacBook Pro M3 levels. If you want Ma

X1C Gen 13 is a MacBook antipode
Unfortunately that's the problem with most Lunar Lake implementations. It needs high clocks and high power draw to have high performance but that's not possible most of the time. Lunar Lake gets good battery life at idle or near-idle but it gets there by being slower than Snapdragon X or AMD Ryzen.

My Thinkpad X9 15 Impressions (Reflectiveness, Fan Noise, Input Devices)
Damn, thank you for this review, your post came in clutch and mentioned all the things that are relevant for me too! I actually bought a p14s with a glorious 3K screen, which has been absolutely fantastic. Buuut, i'll return it because of shitty battery life (talking of 2,5 hours of battery life on

T14s gen 6: AMD or Intel?
It works on my T14s Snapdragon, LOL. I get something like 3% battery drain overnight in sleep mode. On AMD and Intel, YMMV. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-empire-strikes-back-with-21-hrs-of-battery-life-Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14s-Gen-6-laptop-review.1008078.0.html This is the only review out there th

Longest thinkpad battery life
T480 with internal graphics and 'low power' FHD screen. Those were the last mainstream models to have removal batteries, and you could get them with 96Wh in total (24 Wh internal+72Wh removable) . Getting one of these for $200-250 plus plan on having to replace the battery - OEM , that's expensive.
