End of an era: Why the construction of the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 is so significant

i daily drive a P16s Gen 4 (80+ GB of ram) and it’s an amazing machine. i have M4 Macbook pros too….and gaming rigs with GPUs, and even x8 Nvidia H100 servers … and lemme tell you. the Lenovo thinkpad P series are solid as a work and engineering machine and i want more of them. they are great

Anyone else having a surprisingly smooth experience with Ubuntu 26.04 LTS on newer hardware?

I run it on a Lenovo P16s Gen 4 and it's been great. I certainly don't think it's surprising though.

T14 vs Legion (or other Lenovo suggestions)

Based on the pricing, I'm guessing you're in Canada? The Lenovo Perkopolis portal (https://www.lenovo.com/ca/vipmembers/perkopolisgold/en/pc/ with password PerksGoldCA26!) currently has a great deal on the ThinkPad P14s and P16s and they're very customizable, starting at roughly $1200. Play around w

Reccomend a laptop? (Art)

You didn't mention a price range? The two below are going to be more than capable with wide color gamut you need as an art creator, gaming not so much . Note both are kind costly. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadp/thinkpad-p16s-gen-4-16-inch-amd-mobile-workstation/21qr001eus

Looking for a sturdy, yet lightweight workhorse for years to come

You have a pretty comfortable budget for your current use purpose so there are quite a few options. Regarding the processor, while AMD is preferred by many, Intel Ultra 2xx series (Arrow Lake & Lunar Lake) have comparable performance to AMD's AI 3xx series, some are slightly better. The 2026 lineups

Looking for a sturdy, yet lightweight workhorse for years to come

Glad it helps. Your current specs will most likely last a whole decade! However, I think the AI 9 370 and 64GB RAM might be overkill for your use, unless you’re in IT/ Engineering or other tech-based careers that require them. Also, laptops with powerful processors like Ryzen/Ultra 9 will get hot &

Looking to get a ThinkPad - Are either models good?

Don't buy a gen 1 for $1000... goto lenovo.com and lenovo outlet.. the latest laptops are like $800-1500 P14s AMD, X1 Carbon Gen 13, T14 Gen 6, T14s, X13. Also check lenovo outlet for deals on new/certified refurb: Check slickdeals for pricing: https://www.slickdeals.com https://www.lenovo.com/us/ou

Why isn't there much love for the Thinkpad T16? Too big?

I used to swear by larger laptops until I sized way down from a W540 to an X13 Gen 3. I don't miss the number pad, certainly not more than I enjoy my laptop weighing barely over 2 pounds. And, crucially, the functionality between Lenovo's 12/13" and 14-16" laptops is largely the same, with the excep

Laptop for lawyer

The ideapad and inspiron are consumer grade systems and should not be considered. The E series is a budget grade business (E for economy), while not a bad system, there are better built systems, so if you're getting this one for a great price, go for it, but I would see what it would take to step in
