Help pricing my Thinkpad
$900-1000, it's got 32gb ram and 1tb ssd.. dont accept less than $900-1000, it's a great laptop. New AMD P14 Gen 6 start around $2k+ right now w/ 32gb ram and nothing's really changed model-wise tbh other than some minor refreshed CPUs: ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 (14 inch AMD) | Power-packed AI-Driven Mobi

32GB vs. 64GB?
Personally? no. I haven't noticed a difference between 32 and 64gb of ram. I DO notice a difference between 16 and 32. My usual workload sits around 24gb with teams, outlook, many large excel spreadsheets/word docs and about 3-4 dozen webapps open at any given time. However, especially where ram pri

Switching from 2019 MacBook Pro - Need ThinkPad recommendation around $1250 for heavy multitasking
I would get a P1, I have a gen 7, which would be out of your price range, but you can get a gen 4. I think it's the closest to a Macbook you could get. If you want new, A P14s Gen 6 AMD is at the top of your budget, but is a killer machine for sure.

SMU Computer Science (CS) - Which laptop to buy ?
I doubt CS would genuinely require you to ever dual boot with Linux, but at home I sometimes load Debian from my USB, or use WSL on my PC. I got the Thinkpad P14s Gen6 with the RTX 1000 Pro GPU. I emailed the Lenovo support for an additional discount along with the student discount which brought it

Starting Software Engineering This Fall — Help Me Choose a Laptop I Won’t Regret
ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 with the Ryzen Ai 350 , 32gb/1tb models are going for that Price range in the US right now. Got a steal of a deal on one for 1000 . The 500 nit low power screen is almost as good as an OLED yet sips battery . Should get you past college.

Reliable 16 inches laptop for daily use - Thinkpad alternatives
The Ryzen AI 350 cpu is great , but you start working it and the battery life will go down faster. I get a solid 8 hours on my P14s gen 6 with a 57wH battery so between the HP and the ThinkPad the bigger battery wins. I have no personal experience with the 255u in the Dell but heard it’s really soli
