My first ThinkPad (did I make a mistake?)

I just got my P14s Gen 6 Intel last week. I was choosing between the AMD and Intel versions and I chose Intel. Here’s what I’ll say. The average efficiency of AMD is going to be better. Intel had to go up to 14 cores with the Ultra 5 225H (what I have) and the Ultra 7 255H (which might have 16 cores

EU/IT Linux Laptop, what to buy?

Skip all the hype brands. Durable laptops with good Linux support are made by only 3 companies: Dell, Lenovo and HP. Discard all other options. Imo the absolute best laptop you can buy right now is the Dell Pro Max 16 Premium. See this video. Skip the GPU as always unless you really need it. Worthy

Are there any reviews for T14 Gen 6 AMD?

The P14s G6 has been reviewed, you can use this to gauge what performance you should get (albeit the scores will be slightly slower as it won’t be clocked as aggressively and lacks the AI 9 option; however this will give you better battery runtime..) https://www.notebookcheck.net/Most-powerful-AMD-1

ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 13 for software engineering

Agree on this one. I have both the MacBook Pro M4 (for Work) and the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 (for Personal Use), and I use them both for heavy backend development. I love them both, but I have to give it to the MacBook Pro M4 for development. If you're looking for power, they're both okay. But for batte

Massive improvements thanks to Intel Arrow Lake: Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 laptop review

Snapdragon 8 Elite battery from a phone is clearly even better. So I'm unsure what's the point of mentioning Lunar Lake when literally immediately above the quote you took it says the following: Last year's ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 Intel was already a great addition to the lineup. The new Lenovo ThinkPad

Starting Software Engineering This Fall — Help Me Choose a Laptop I Won’t Regret

ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 with the Ryzen Ai 350 , 32gb/1tb models are going for that Price range in the US right now. Got a steal of a deal on one for 1000 . The 500 nit low power screen is almost as good as an OLED yet sips battery . Should get you past college.

Any good newer thinkpads?

any powerful thinkpads that have good amount of ram (ECC) To support ECC memory the CPU vendor should provide the mobile CPU with ECC memory support. I don't think there is any mobile CPU with ECC memory support nowadays. For the good amount of RAM - just look for the laptop with memory in slots (no

Reliable 16 inches laptop for daily use - Thinkpad alternatives

The Ryzen AI 350 cpu is great , but you start working it and the battery life will go down faster. I get a solid 8 hours on my P14s gen 6 with a 57wH battery so between the HP and the ThinkPad the bigger battery wins. I have no personal experience with the 255u in the Dell but heard it’s really soli

T14 Gen 7 now available for order. No X7 / B390 options, though, just Like X1C g14.

The pre-configured SKUs are already decently discounted relative to the configurator price for both P14s Gen 6 and P16s Gen 4. I think whenever the new P14s/P16s launch, the price shock will trigger people to clear out the previous gen models without further price cuts from Lenovo (this is what happ
