I'm officially broke because of this sub

8840HS, 64GB, 4TB, 2.8K OLED. Reason for AMD only is because in Gen3, Intel was absolute, utter, garbage. In gen 4, Intel wasn't competitive, although wasn't garbage. In gen 5, Intel was competitive in the H vs. HS, but not in U vs. U, and still was behind AMD in H vs. HS. I wanted Intel E14 Gen7 (I

Leiser Laptop

I’m starting to resent my T480

Before spending money on a newer laptop, ditch the Windows11 and reset your T480 to the state it was in when it was new. Then update the Win10 to the latest 22H2 release, check that Microsoft Update doesn't replace any Lenovo-supplied drivers with generic ones and enroll in ESUs to keep receiving se

Is this T14 Gen 6 configuration worth 1600 USD?

T-series with only 1 year warranty? And for full price? Definitely not a good deal. You could get the same specs in E14 Gen7 guise (plus 2.8k IPS display) for a few hundred less. This is a configuration primarily aimed at top efficiency with its Lunar Lake CPU. It will do a very good job at general

Help me choose between Thinkpad E16 gen 3 and Thinkpad P16 gen 3 (and the correct model code)

Living in a dorm implies you may be a student; in that case look at the Lenovo campus program. The discount is quite substantial. FWIW, I'm happy with my E14 Gen7 (the 14" brother to the E16 Gen3), Intel 258V with 32G RAM. Battery life is great (11+ hours on normal use).

After one year with my T480 as my daily, it’s time to move on.

Here, The T480(s) generation was replaced with T14(s) Gen3 AMD. Drastically improved CPU/iGPU performance (6th gen Ryzen7 has 8 cores, iGPU faster than dGPU on T480), first gen that reverted to 16:10 displays again. Real-world battery life when new was around nine hours with the WUXGA screen, quiet

Recommendation for ThinkPad with 2 NVMe + 780M iGPU

E14 Gen7 and E16 Gen3 (14" and 16" editions of largely the same system) are both available with Ryzen7 250 / 780M iGPUs and have two NVME slots. I can wholeheartedly recommend those. Quality has improved dramatically over earlier generations, price point is good, this generation of AMD CPU/iGPU is p

CPU for Thinkpad E14 Gen 7

I'll leave others to comment on Lunar Lake performance, but in pure hardware terms Lunar Lake is limited to fixed RAM 16GB or 32GB, and a single internal NVMe drive. Lunar Lake's architecture doesn't permit RAM slots, or the dual internal NVMe drive support of the other Intel and AMD models. ThinkPa

The E14 Gen 7 is probably the best new laptop available right now for the money.

The value on these things is nuts. And it has one of the few sane non-OLED hi-res display options available on any 14" Thinkpad. Only issue is the pretty much non-replaceable keyboard - in order to replace it you need to take the entire device apart: For access, remove these FRUs: • “Base cover asse
