Hesitant to build a powerful PC due to uncertain future

Higher end laptops are definitely capable. For example, I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 with a 5080 and 275HX. Very expensive, bought for $2700 in August. It sits just a bit under my 9070 XT 7800X3D desktop in most games. In games with heavy ray tracing, it typically matches or pulls ahead by a

New Laptop for School/Gaming

personally with that budget I would put $1250 to the EDU Macbook Air M5 and then $1250 to a Desktop Gaming computer with like a 5060 and Ryzen 5 5600/7600. If you dont want to do that, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 is overkill for everything you described here, but maxxes out your budget while kee

Linux on Legion Pro 7i Gen 10

Everything pretty much runs out of the box on current kernels except audio. Audio runs with custom kernel, tested on Fedora 43. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Fedora/Audio-auf-dem-Lenovo-Legion-Pro-7i-Gen-10-16IAX10H-unter-Fedora-43-Linux/m-p/10022706 https://github.com/nadimkobeissi/16iax10h-linux-so

Ideal handheld to upgrade to

When I’m not operating, I’m sitting at a desktop looking at mri/cts etc. So I think you understood me correct - I just do not want to sit at a desk anymore. I have so many monitors and towers at work and home that it haunts me. Follow up - as others are suggesting, the OneXFly Apex is looking like a

Zephyrus 2025 ou 2026 ?

Razer has the best cooling solution in the bunch of thin and light laptops. 160-165W in Razer Blade is at around 78-80 degrees. This is crazy for its thinness. My Lenovo Legion Pro 7i gen 10 had higher temps. Razer Blade 16 2026 is quite good actually. Strix Scar 16 has better cooling, yes, but is t

PC for my Boss

Is he wanting a desktop? Is this something that he’ll need on-site or is it just going to sit in a room? Forgive me, as I’m not too familiar with productivity workloads, but I believe that a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 would do well. I got the 275HX + 5080 model. He could choose a 64GB option, but I

Looking get a high-end Linux dev laptop. Need recommendations!

Framework and Lenovo both have baked in Linux support, helps with drivers and firmware. I own a FW13 that is my daily use travel laptop I throw in a bag and has survived years of sometimes straight abuse. Unfortunately can't comment on the FW16, haven't been hands on with one. I also have a Lenovo L
