That's what I use-- the Lenovo ideaTab pro 12.7 is very readable, but it can get a little heavy to hold sometimes. You have to de-crap-ify some of the Lenovo software but otherwise it's a solid choice and a good value at around $400 USD-- hopefully about 300 pounds in the UK for the OP.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro either with 12Gb RAM or with 8 GB RAM and a Lenovo Pen booth with 256 GB Rom available. Around 300-350 and sometimes cheaper. Big size and great speakers and performance. Only downside is the brightness but in closed rooms for studying probably not a problem.

Samsung. I like my Lenovo Idea Tab Pro. Yoga is better but I'd say go with the Samsung unless you want a budget tab. Add One+ to your list for comparison. The Samsung is going to have a larger selection of cases. I can't find a decent case for my Lenovo.
