If dlux is a Panasonic then is M11 a Sony with no autofocus
not exactly, the point of a rangefinder is maniy having a rangefinder mechanism which compeletely changes how you use the camera and its a unique mechanism than anything else, although the sl3 is basically an a7riv for more money. also the native m mount makes rangefinder lenses shorter since you do

SL2-S or save for a SL3/-S?
I think the best deal in the Leica world is to buy the penultimate model of a good used camera. As an M11 user, which is my main camera, I had the same needs as you and bought an SL2-S with a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 and I think it's fantastic. The SL3-3 is a bit lighter and more compact, but when you us

Does the SL series cameras feel the same?
Great answer! After all, what is the “Leica” feeling? I shoot an M because I enjoy the lack of features, I want this minimalist approach in my personal photography. Because of my love for the M system I was considering switching to the SL3 for my professional work, and as a part of this I arranged a

I know this is a Leica sub but I believe it is fundamentally wrong to dismiss the Sony A7Riv and v which use the same sensor as in the Leica M11 series, SL3 and Q3. None of those Leica series cameras produces good JPEGs straight out of the camera (SOOC). You have to edit RAW images to obtain optimal

Z8 Overheating today
I’m based in AZ, shooting weddings and events year round ranging from 60 degrees to 110 degrees direct sun. I haven’t had any overheating issues with the Z8 yet. The only other camera I haven’t had any issues with was the Leica SL2 & Q2. Had warnings pop up on the following Fuji GFX100ii, Sony A7IV,

Brand New SL3 Test Run: Unedited
I took a dedicated weekend trip to my nearest Leica store (about 5 hours drive away) as I’d arranged a 48 hour loan of the SL3 to test it as a possible next system for my studio. I’m very experienced with mirrorless, having used Fujifilm since the X-T1 was released, and now with the X-H2. The store

Who is the SL3 for?
Great summary. In fact I agree with most of what is said here. I'm on the fence about my sl3-s. I shot canon for decades but 10 years ago got an M10. I all but stopped using the canon (and all the glass I'd accumulated over the years!) Every once in a while I'd need to take a shot that the M couldn'
