Can someone pleeeeeeease explain the fascination with Leica cameras?
Try one and see. I thought the same thing then I got my hands on a Leica M2 and instantly saw why. Right now I have hella different cameras all brands and the one I reach for the most is the Leica Q3. My canon and sony cameras beat it by a lot in terms of autofocus and features, but the Q3 is just a

Why Leica?
Two things really. in a world where everything is made to the cheapest possible standards, everything breaks quickly, everything is getting smaller etc, I always seek out proper, made to last, well built items. I just love the robustness, weight, quality and care taken on Leica cameras. the experien

New to Leica Q3 !
In my opinion the Q3 offers a great user experience straight out of the box. But there are some things I configured to my liking in my Q3 28. Note, that possibilities of customization depend on the firmware version, which is installed. 4.0.0 offers some new advantages (and takes others away). The mo

I own a Q2 and love it but.. 43 is tempting.
I owned a Q2(it was my first Leica) and it’s a stunning camera. If i was in a position to keep it I would’ve, but I traded it for a M10-R and now a M11-P. For me I love the wider focal range and the 28 was on the fringe of that, I missed the 21mm. Now that i’m blessed to have a 35mm lux fle, Im shoo

Went to Leica Store for a (third) 35mm (Summilux) .. left with a Q43
Good choice. Frankly a good idea. No need to fuss with changing lenses, it has decent autofocus, auto everything when you need it. Gives at least as good performance if not better than an M11 and a 35 mm or 50 mm. If you need a 28 mm, just buy a Q3 instead. I shoot Leica because of the Q series. M’s

Q3 43 vs Fuji GFX 100S II
I have the Leica Q3 28 and the Fuji GFX 100S II... I have the 55 f/1.7, 45-100, and 20-35 lenses for the GFX. The GFX is so much heavier and slower. It's a beast. The 110 is a beast of a lens also, i think it's approx. the weight of the 45-100... it's something to lug around. The Q3 is relatively (r

Switching from Nikon to Leica: M11 or Q3 (or both)? Looking for advice.
Although I can’t comment on moving from DSLR to the M or Q system, I can comment on having the M and Q duo. My take on the Q is it’s essentially a 28mm summilux, or APO, with a free camera body. The prices are vastly similar for lens alone versus Q3. If you’re in the market for similar lenses, I thi

Q3 or Q2
yes, that's true.... new processor is an improvement.... but still, for my personal use case, the 3k for a Q2 vs the 5k+ for the Q3.... I am happy with the Q2. Once I use the Q2 to point of replacement, I would consider the Q3/43.... or perhaps by then a Q4! The Leica AF is slower than a Sony etc...

Sell M8.2 for X100VI - worried I might regret it (not a usage issue)
X100vi is nice but it’s limited to f3 depth of field in full frame equivalent, feels more plasticky. Autofocus is just ok. You can mimic their film sims post process if you shoot raw. If you want set it and forget it autofocus and 35mm look at the Sony rx1riii. If you want better sensor go m10r or m

Need advice about the Q
Leica still uses the exact same lens on the Q3. That's kinda all you need to know. The body attached to it is very capable and still feels premium by today's standards. The color is frankly exceptional. Still my favorite color science in any camera I've ever used. Downsides are there too though. It'
