I love my espresso. But sometimes I just want a big cup of coffee.

I have 3 different french presses, a bialetti moka pot, a ceramic V60 for filter, la pavoni europiccola, picopresso, flair go, and a traditional costa rican coffee sock I love each one of those methods, but for simplicity I use the french press, if I need more clarity I go for the sock or V60, but i

Continue to wait for fellow espresso series one, or move on to something else? [$3,500]

lol this thing always getting hate on here. I preordered mine as soon as I saw it mostly because of how great the Aiden has been for us. My first espresso machine was a vintage dual switch La Pavoni Europiccola. Bought it on eBay in 2018. It’s the only espresso machine I’ve ever owned. I learned how

So what is the advantage of electronic lever machines vs small foot print espresso makers

So, I've never had a small footprint espresso maker like a Bambino. I've heard they are great, but my first real espresso machine was a La Pavoni. For me, the allure is that I'm making espresso how I thought it was originally made. As it turns out, my machine is less sophisticated than the spring le

Worth a thrift shop risk? [$500]

I have this exact machine and really love it. I bought it for $200 in generally really great shape and it came with a portafilter. $375 is a lot especially w/o a portafilter. Given the ubiquity of La Pavonis and ease of sourcing parts, you can get a pre-millenium for about that price or a bit more a

What is the easiest to use manual espresso maker?

I've used a Flair and really liked it, but for convenience (and I realise not quite what you asked) - what about something with a small boiler like a La Pavoni Europiccola? Then you can steam as well

What purchase felt expensive at the time but was completely worth it?

If we're talking coffee machines, I bought a LA PAVONI EUROPICCOLA. It was about $1200, so a little more expensive. But it's very reliable and self serviceable. No plastic parts, steams milk and makes amazing coffee. You can make your espresso coffee any way you like it. It's not automated in any wa

Help needed for beginner [<2000€]

German here too, so feel free to DM me :) Quickmill 0820 is also a good beginner machine and available in Germany. Especially second hand. The machine is a thermoblock with all it advantages and disadvantages. I liked it but switched to a custom 0820 later with PID for avoiding temperature surfing.

Does the Robot actually make better coffee?

I can’t speak about a Robot specifically, I’m here because I’m thinking about getting one. That being said, I’ve had a lever machine since 1999. Specifically, a LaPavoni Europiccola. Lever machines in general give you so much control over every step of the process that I would never consider an auto

La Pavoni for my first espresso machine? [$1,000]

I assume we're talking about the Europiccola here, right? They do or did make non-levers too. If so, here's the pros and cons I see as a former owner. Pros - You can make shots as good as anything out there. Fast warm up time. Can keep it forever. Very little to go wrong and you can service it yours

What’s your story of getting in the espresso game?

I was visiting someplace and there was a guy who had this really weird coffee machine. He showed it to me and it was so crazy and weird that I decided I wanted one. I later learned that it was a LaPavoni Europiccola and he had absolutely no clue how to use it, the coffee he made was terrible but I w
