Looking for an ereader recommendation
Do any ereaders require a subscription? I don't think so. Kobo and Kindle have optional subscriptions, but they aren't required. I would recommend not getting color if you are just reading text as it just increases battery use. Kindle is covered with ads. Kobo doesn't the advertising (though it does

Why I didn't like the Kobo Libra Colour (and am returning it)
I completely agree with these points. That send to kindle feature is part of the reason I stay as someone who primarily side loads. I have 3 kindles (which I prefer in sync) and a Clara colour. I could never fully switch to kobo. Too much manual moving around and I’m not trying to plug anything into

Tablet for Graphic Novels
A kobo libra! Large screen full color e reader with direct access to Libby. Getting more than one card on is finicky, I haven’t been able to do it yet but I also haven’t tried particularly hard, there are instructions to do so on the kobo sub. The colors are a bit muted, more like newspaper print th

Kubo or Kindle?
Kindle devices are great, but Amazon has been on an extreme mission to lock their system down. That’s an instant no for me. Kobo also makes great devices. I didn’t really like the thickness of the Kobo Clara BW but the screen was good. I only sideload, and the more books I got the longer it took cal

Getting my GF a Kindle for Christmas
Colour is the only difference between the Clara Color and Clara BW. Libra only has a colour version and has a pencil for notes, dropbox/cloud stuff, buttons to turn pages. A lot of people in the kobo sub frigging hate the colour versions. It's basically an extra layer over the black and white screen

Does anyone regret getting a color ereader
I was afraid that I was really missing out and bought a color erita after already having a new Kobo Clara black and white and then when I got the library it was kind of disappointing and I ended up selling it again . Unless you're really into graphic novels or color content I see no advantage and ha

Libby books staying on device after return date?
Oh really? The newer kindles can't keep libby books past 14 days either? I was about to upgrade my kindle to a newer one (possibly the oasis), but if it cant keep libby books like my voyage can I'll hold off on upgrading. I also have a kobo clara colour i enjoy using but sucks that the libby hack do

Looking to buy an e-reader and so confused on what to get!
I own the Pocketbook Verse Pro Color, and I much prefer it to the Kobo Clara Color. It also integrates Libby, and you can use multiple library cards. Did my purposes, it has the features I prefer, including cloud sync of sideloaded books with other Pocketbook devices (I also own the 7.8” Inkpad 4),

Daily Discussion - May 14, 2026
I have the Kobo Clara BW, which I got to replace a Kindle Paperwhite that I had for a hot minute in early-2024 before they announced the KCBW. In hindsight, I should have just gotten a Kobo to begin with, given that their now discontinued Kobo Libra 2 cost the same as what I paid for my Kindle. As f

State of ereader and e-reading in India : personal journey and opinion on current state
If you are working on the support of a product, you care to make its accessories to be widely available. If you google it, you will find , though, apple 's first party premium accesories are not much worth to price, but remains a fairbit of market share and appreciation for this. One can just buy 1
