Recent new drm on kindles

I mean, a couple people posted a few days ago having this issue. I know at least one of them I suggested creating a log and posting to the nodrm github. And I know that on the github, at least 2 separate posts had the same problem with 5.16.2.1.1 and the nodrm mod was able to reproduce the same prob

Feeling conflicted switching to Kobo

It depends on each person's use case, so I'll explain why kobo works for ME better than kindle. Amazon discontinued the kindle oasis and I didn't want to get a device without buttons. Kindle doesn't support Canadian libraries, but kobo has overdrive integration. Kindle's UI is horrible, the home pag

Amazon is killing off perfectly functioning Kindles for no reason other than being old

I'm glad you don't have issues with it, mine refuses to read them at all or makes the text very small in the center of the screen, no matter what I choose in settings. Not sure what model it is because I received it as a gift, I think it's called oasis? I might be wrong. I haven't jailbroken it yet

Need help deciding - Kindle paperwhite / Kobo Libra Colour / Colorsoft

I have the kobo libra colour and love it. But coloue e-ink in general is different than b&w and it can be hit or miss with people, so you won't really know if you'll like it or not till you try it. The libra colour has a great grip because of the wide bezel with the buttons, and the buttons is a mus

Sell me on your favorite ereader

I’m looking at it now! I had an Oasis 1 which I traded in for an Oasis 3, but I don’t love the 3. My fear is I won’t like the grip on the libra but it seems like I would really like it! I feel like 7.8 is a sweet spot for me but I’ve only had one kobo. The flexibility in setting up the margins and s

Kobo Clara BW vs Kindle Paperwhite.Which is better for offline/sideloaded reading?

I switched from Kindle Oasis to Kobo Libra Colour and I prefer the kobo. Kobo's UI is better, and I mainly sideload with Calibre and it works better with kobo, there's so many options I can use and I send my files already organised the way I want them. For kindle, it's better to sideload using "send

Would you buy Kindle Oasis (10th gen) in 2026?

So I have both kindle oasis and kobo libra colour, kindle oasis' battery is not good, never has been, 6 weeks is a dream unless you're not using it at all. You don't really need to disable the touchscreen, I never used that option on the oasis, and I never missed it on the libra, because the wide si

Would you buy Kindle Oasis (10th gen) in 2026?

I have a jailbroken Kindle Oasis 2 and while calibre WiFi transfer works like a charm and reading on it is fun... it has two major flaws. My battery measures around 90% of its claimed capacity so it should be still fine. But it sucks. Even without using the light a lot and with WiFi off. It feels li

Anything matching my niche needs?

Kobo Libra Color is the one that comes closest, unless you can find a Kindle Oasis somewhere. There’s a slight lip between the casing and the screen on the Kobo, but it’s not terrible. The Oasis would meet all of your requirements (except charging - it used micro USB), but Amazon doesn’t make them a

Budget Friendly with SD Storage with other caveats.

For downloading apps, an android ereader is the only option. Bigme and Boox are popular brands. Both brands have a square 7" model with buttons (basically similar in looks to the Oasis) and a 6" model and specs are pretty similar so it's mostly personal preference. For the page turner, idk if it wil
