Silent mechanical for the office

I use a keychron V1 max with Akko penguins, tuned stabs, and a thin neoprene layer in the case to deaden the board. To be honest, it’s mushy and I hate it, but it’s light weight and infinitely better than a membrane keyboard. A Neo75 cu would not be a board I’d want to use for commuting. If you want

Good TKL that isn’t a Keychron Hi everyone, I ordered a 100% V6-D1-AZ Keychron and absolutely love the typing experience. But it’s just too large, so I ordered a V1-D1 (TKL version of the one I have) and the quality is much lower. Keychron customer support insists it’s the exact same board with a di

What was the BIFL upgrade that instantly exposed all your cheap versions?

I've tried a couple of mechanical keyboards and just couldn't get on with them. One was a Keychron V1 Max!

Why is the space bar so garbage on the Keychron Q1 Max ($230)

I have a similar issue with my Keychron V1; it has a stabilizer built in but for whatever reason the wire is going INSIDE the case, meaning it's not able to stabilize anything. The stabilizers they have installed use these little brass inserts that look like the kind you heat and push into plastic..

Help me choose

I’ll be honest. I’ve tried a few low-profile keyboards and liked all of them, which makes the choice pretty difficult. I tested both the red and blush switches from Nuphy and enjoyed both, though I think I slightly preferred the reds. That said, they’re also louder. As for Keychron, I don’t remember

HELP: DIY low profile kb for gateron 3.0 switches like nuphy air v3

UPDATE: While I never found a low profile option that met my needs, I did find the solution for me. The EVO80, with the Keygeek Neo Oat switches on the PP (Polypropylene) plate. It's not low profile, but it sounds and feels almost identical to the Nuphy Air 75 v3 with nano red switches. I love it. No

Steelseries vs Razer switch options

I feel like it depends on which Keychron series you get though. I first tried the V1 Max with Gateron Jupiter Banana switches and thought it felt cheap, from the case's materials to the light press feel of the keys (even though the Bananas were meant to be the heaviest tactile switch available). I r

Something moddable like Wave75/ Bridge75 or magnetic Keychron K2 HE?

If you had to rank your priorities, would you rather a keyboard with Hall effect or a keyboard that sounds good? If you can prioritize one over the other then that may narrow your choices. Also, I have a Keychron V1 Max (tape modded), and the spacebar sounds absolutely horrid even with Keygeek Y2 re

Looking for heavy typing (lots of text and programming) Keyboard.

i feel you on the k3 sensitivity - low profile browns can feel almost linear. for that thinkpad x220 feel you want something with a crisp tactile bump but not too much travel. look at boards with boba u4t switches or even outemu silent lemons if you want it quieter. the keychron v1 with tactile swit

75% Keyboard Recommendation with Delete, Home, and End keys

The K2 is actually the standard 75% layout... it's basically the same as my first 75% keyboard back in the 90s. The exploded layout with the knob is kind of new. I would avoid the V1 or the Q1 because Keychron has been having problems with the switches popping out when the gasket mounted PCB and pla
