Should I buy the MX Mechanical now or wait for a refresh?
I just switched from this to Keychron Q6 Max brown and it’s night a day quality difference / build quality. I’m loving the Keychron.

Hot Take: My Keychron keyboards have been great
I have the older, regular mechanical Q6 Max and just got the new HE spin on it. You can tell Keychron has improved the design as they're effectively the same KB chassis but the HE variant has much better insulation design and the control slider switches don't rattle. And a side benefit as there's no

Best silent mechanical keyboard for programming?
Are the switches replaceable on the mechanical keyboard? If so, some cheap 'silent' switches are the way to go, or o-rings if you don't mind the mushy feeling? Have you considered a low profile keyboard? they tend to be a lot quieter out of the box. The Apple Magic keyboards are low profile, come in

To be honest, the choices available that meet all your requirements are so limited that going for the Q6 makes the most sense. If I were you though, I'd not buy it direct from Keychron. They're customer support is questionable, and getting it returned should there be an issue is apparently difficult

Worst big brands to buy keyboards from
Enthusiast circles really have a bone to pick with Keychron, though I never fully understood why. I'm not knee-deep in the super-boutique or DIY scenes, but the couple Keychron boards I do own (a K6 for travel/around the house, a Q6 Max at my desk) I've been perfectly happy with. I've always likened

Looking for a premium full sized, backlit mechanical keyboard
ticktype dp104, keychron q6 max would probably be two of my recommendations.

Nuphy sent me a broken keyboard, now wants me to buy a second keyboard
As someone who bought a keychron keyboard 4 years ago... that thing was hot dog-water. I did however just get a Q6 max and baby they really started to cook. This thing rules, barely had to do any mods out of the box. They really upped their game

What is wrong with 100% layouts? Looking for a new keyboard and ....
There is nothing wrong with them they are just a waste of space for most people. I use a 75% because it looks much nicer, gives my desk more room and I've never used any of the keys that aren't on a 75%. And I use them for gaming and IT work. Custom 100% boards pop up every once in a while but if bo

100% with knob is my preference as well. Add macro keys and ISO, and you have exactly one manufacturer with decent products (well, sort of what with their 2024 QC problems): Keychron. Yeah, M5 - no knob, Qk101 - no knob, less keys, two screens (?). So, Keychron it is. V6 Max, Q6 Max, Q6 HE are all w

First, full sized keyboards are not very popular in the custom keyboard market. That said, see the QK101, Neo98, and Keychron Q6 Max. Second, a wireless full sized keyboard (which has 104 or 108 keys) will not last long with the RGB on. See this comment for the battery life of a wireless 65% keyboar
