After my first two boards, I decided that lubing stabs was the only thing worth doing
Wasn't the whole idea behind all those mods to take the stuff that was available on the market at the time (like 5+ years ago) and improve it substantially with little effort? I mean, it is crazy how much development/improvements have happened in the last few years in terms of what you get for your

What’s going on with Keychron?
So I have several older Keychron keyboards (Q, Q Pro and V series). I've had almost no problems with them with the exception of one original model Q5 that had a hot swap socket connector pop off the rear of the PCB (which potentially was my fault when replacing switches on it as I've swapped switche

NuPhy killer or nah?
Depends on what you value I guess. My €130 Nuphy Halo 2 IO feels and sounds much better than my €225 Keychron Q1 Max... and the Nuphy doesn't have rattling stabs.

Why all the hate for Keychron?
Got a Q1 HE. About half a year in I got random key presses, sent it back, got a new one. A month in, the same thing happened. Definitely not a switch issue, as it happened even with the switches removed. I’m on my third one just because I love the look and feel of it, but won’t be buying any new Key

Unpopular opinion: the V1 at $74 makes the Q1 Max at $199 almost impossible to justify. I ran the numbers.
The Q are really hard to justify, except maybe the Q4 is still a bit of a bargain. I still prefer the J2 to any of the Q or V lines. The Keychron design language that makes then leave out the bottom key in the navigation column in the V1/Q1 kind of ticks me off. Moving the column over 1/4u and putti

I'm impressed with the Neo98
That's what blows my mind. I have 4 Q series from 2020-2022 and it's crazy how bad they sound and feel(with mods and tuning) compared to the stock sound/feel of many of the boards out in the last year that cost half the price. It's just crazy to think that they were IMO the best value proposition in

If I want a single keycap printed for the 'ctrl' button on a keychron q1 max, what are my purchasing options/
the q1 max doesn't actually have an integral 'end' key and its very difficult for me to write without one. Ah. Yes, I have the same problem. This is why I got the J2 rather than the V1 or Q1. Or you could go with the Monsgeek M1 or the Kiiboom Loop75 or any of the other complete exploded 75% boards

Feels like I'm going in circles and I could really use some help with suggestions for my first custom keyboard. I'm going for the following criteria for what would be a barebones kit: -65% Layout-CNC Aluminum frame-Black or Silver Frame-Tri Mode or at least wired plus a wireless connection-Ability t

Discussing Keyboard Options
I've narrowed it down to either the K2 or K4 (just the size difference) sams switches or the Keychron K10 Max QMK. Maybe also the Q1 but the increased price is backing me away

Very nice ... I'm afraid my Keychron Q1 is very dull - I just got it because I wanted a dedicated Mac set-up and my other keybs were configured for Windows. Everything is stock except the switches which I swapped for Kailh Deep Sea Silent Pro V2s to be quiet. The stabs could do with some work though
