Mechanical keyboard recs?
Using a Keychron K10 Max with Banana switches for home office. Great typing experience and works fine on both Windows and Mac. Might be a little on the louder side but I really like Banana and Brown switches (maybe Mint is good too).

Discussing Keyboard Options
I've narrowed it down to either the K2 or K4 (just the size difference) sams switches or the Keychron K10 Max QMK. Maybe also the Q1 but the increased price is backing me away

First Mechanical Keyboard in Years
I’m no expert on them, but I googled it and this is the first comparison that popped up: Keychron Q6 Max Build: Full aluminum case, gasket mount, very heavy for stability, premium feel. Connectivity: Wired only (but the "Max" version is now wireless too, check specs), QMK/VIA support for deep custom

Excessive ghost typing on K10 Max
Keychron has been playing sillybuggers with NKRO, and some of their boards don't even let you turn it off. USB supports a number of different keyboard protocols. The older 6KRO protocol sends a packet containing an array of up to six keys plus a bitmap of modifiers (shift, control, etc). The newer N

K10, K10Pro, K10 Max and K10 HE?
Some of the differences: Programmability/configurability: The K10 (not to be confused with K10 V2) has proprietary firmware, with practical nothing that can be configured, and the rest are fully programmable (with released source code), with some configuration possible using GUI tools. An example of

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - May 06, 2026
Can anybody recommend me a mechanical keyboard similar to the Keychron K10 Max but with a lower edge? I like the Keychron but it’s a bit too high for me. I’m looking for a 100% keyboard with at least 1 or 2 bluetooth pairings and an easy way to switch between them.

Finding a keyboard shouldn’t be this difficult.
https://www.keychron.uk/products/keychron-k10-max-qmk-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard-iso-layout-collectionThis one, perhaps? Not sure if you use ISO layout, want wireless/wired, hot-swappable, or what your other needs are, but this is a 100% layout that's just a small stretch above your budget.

Looking for a USB keyboard with a Commodore 64–like typing feel (US layout)
Keychron C2 is wired and the caps look a lot like my Commodore's keys No idea about long travel though. The K10 Max has the classic Commodore key shape, but it's wireless with a wired option

Are there any Keychron boards that have caps lock / num lock lights above arrow keys?
That is the same as for the K10 Max, only for Caps Lock, not for Num Lock (page 9 in the user manual). References J2 product page. A 85% (true TKL) wired and wireless (both Bluetooth and '2.4 GHz') QMK/Via-capable mechanical keyboard. RGB (per-key) north-facing (no unwanted light bleed) lighting. J2
