Horrible experience, stay away from Keychron and resellers

Re "It had sticky key issues (not physically) where it would continue to repeat a key until that key was pressed again": The key release event was probably lost somewhere. Did it also happen in wired mode? A remote possibility is a key debounce time that is set way too high, perhaps depending on the

Are Keychron switches supposed to die this fast?

Are you sure it is the switches? Have you done controlled experiments? For example, does a suspect switch still fail if inserted back in (in a different location)? Reseat before exchanging. K11 Max went bonkers, how to extract low profile Gaterons?

Similar reports for K1 Max: Avoid Keychron at all costs! Keychron K1 Max is a disaster. Several special firmware versions from Keychron were tried (presumably changing the key debounce time), but none worked. #36 Is the K1 Max just a bad keyboard?. Early detection of the problem (April 2024; the key

Gaps between keycaps

OK, looking at the Keychron website, it looks like the original K1 had more chiclet-style keycaps, like a Macbook, while the K1 Max has keycaps that are more like a Thinkpad. I can't find any chiclet keycaps, but perhaps one of these shine-through keycap sets would work better? https://www.amazon.co

/r/MechKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard related question

I am looking for a a low profile TKL keyboard to take into office. I am currently considering the Keychron K1 Max, but based on the videos I has seen of it, it may be too loud for an office environment.Being based in Melbourne Australia, what would be my options for silent switches to use with it?

Keychron is a joke

My two K1 Max Ultra-Slim keyboards operated wireless started out petty good, but after about one year they started repeating random keys. Mine was worse than my wife's but both do it. I tried charging them thinking maybe it was due to a low battery, but it didn't help. I've tried blowing them out wi

What debounce time do you have configured on your Keychron?

The 50 ms is for treating the symptoms for the Keychron 2024 design and production quality issues with keychattering and missed keystrokes. Until April 2025, the default for the gasket-mounted keyboards was 20 ms (also treating the symptoms). The 50 ms is only reflected in the source code for V3 Max

My 2000s mechanical keyboard survived 10+ years of coffee, food, and abuse. My Keychron started dying after one

Re "...dying after one [year]": Unless you actually spilled a significant amount of liquid onto the keyboard, it has nothing to do with the use of it (it may look disgusting beneath the keycaps, but it is unlikely to cause this problem) It is inherent, partly a Keychron design problem and partly a m

Low profile Keyboard specific configuration impossible to find?

I recommend picking up a pack of Keychron low profile silent red switches. They are usually around $20-30 on Amazon. You can switch out the brown switches with those. Unfortunately, I dont think keychron offers the K1 Max with a prebuilt silent option. But check Amazon just in case.

Backlight

Re "Is there any way to boost the brightness of the backlight of the key itself?": Presuming it is already at maximum brightness by Fn + W (or Fn + knob (if the keyboard has a knob)), only by using keycaps with better shine-through characteristics That may be difficult for the south-facing LEDs on t
