KEF Q3 or KEF Q350 in bookcase

Both models are very similar but unless the price difference is large go with the Q3 Meta because it is the newer model and has a bit more refined sound, particularly in the upper frequencies. Generally speaking, putting ANY speaker in a bookcase is a bad idea. That said KEFs seem to do better than

Q3 vs Concerto

Look at the estimated in-room response of your Q3 Metas (courtesy of EAC). You will see them roll off smoothly from ~100 to 60Hz, with a shelf from ~60 to 45Hz, then a knee, and a steep drop-off below that. This kind of bass tuning allows the speakers to be placed closer to the wall, where the bound

KEF Q150 + Marantz PM6007 vs KEF LSX ii

I think the primary benefit you would appreciate with that switch would be the improvement in volume within a relatively large space. the LSX II are a great-sounding speaker for near field, but you are probably pushing them hard in a room that size. the flipside is that I think the LSX II has somewh

First pair of “good” speakers

I was torn between these and the KEF Q3 Metas. Spent quite a bit of time listening to both at the store, and in the end, I went with these — I guess my ears lean more toward the 'brighter' side of the spectrum.Tried them with the foam bungs, but honestly, I prefer how they sound without them. Still

First stereo Hi-Fi Setup

You're welcome! I suggest you watch these YouTube reviews and choose by yourself:KEF Q150 Erin review andKEF Q3 Meta Erin review. Also, forgot to mention KEF bookshelf speakers typically work best with a high pass filter applied at around 80hz, hence my WiiM Amp Ultra + RSL subwoofer suggestions. Ho

A birthday gift to myself:)

Your DAC is already pretty decent (and functions well as a preamplifier). You probably don’t want to spend money on upgrading that at this point. (Maybe later see what stepping up to DX5 etc. would do.) Basically the easiest solution for desktop listening would be to go with active studio monitors.

New speaker help

Please note that you shouldn’t place most speakers horizontally, unless they are designed for it. Maybe if you are listening in near-field you can get away with it. Your 1,5m distance might not be quite in near-field yet. Exception would be coaxial driver speakers. They have pretty uniform dispersio

What to choose: premium bookshelf or standard floorspeaker (from Fyne Audio)??

I dont think that you can compare a $2.2k bookshelf speaker (500SP) with a floorstander that costs $1.4k of the same brand, the Fyne Audio F501S should be the same lvl as the 500SP but a floorstander, it almost have the same price at $2.3k. I've been eyeing the Fyne Audio F501E myself but the local

Advice to upgrade my vinyl listening set up

Hey there. An option you might consider could be this: Wiim Amp ($300, or as low as $240 during those occasional amazon deal days) KEF Q1 Meta - $400 on sale rn or $320 here as a refurb RSL Speedwoofer 10e sub - $299 Alternatively, you could forego the sub for now and go a bit higher up the KEF line
