At what price point do you consider all tower speakers in the same price range/class "high-end."

Midrange in my eyes ends with KEF’s R11, B&W 702, and JBL’s HDI 3800. Those are the top level of performance before you get into endgame, if you listen to a Q11 meta and then an R3, there is a big jump in performance, but from an R3 to an R11, there is an improvement, but not as large of a jump, the

B&W vs KEF

I think the little coaxial tangerine drivers used by kef in all their designs are fundamentally flawed due to the inescapable issues arising from on\off axis variance, diffraction and distortion that come with using coaxials; leading to a speaker that's difficult to position and prone to listening f

The warning remasters sound amazing?!

Agree. I’m on KEF Q11 Metas with 500w hypex amps and it’s an absolute eargasm.

$3000-$4000 System for Metal, Rock and Jazz - Wharfedale Evo 5.4 / Monitor Audio Silver 500 / KEF Q11 Meta? Help needed!

I'll chime in here even though it's not exactly what you're shopping for: I previously owned the MA Silver 300's and have since upgraded to the KEF R7 Meta. The Silver 300's were more 'fun' but noticeably forward in the upper midrange and the highs did get harsh when played loud. The KEFs are much m

Speaker Demo - Day 1

For a room that size, you're going to need a beast of a loudspeaker to fill that size of space. You'll also need a multi-subwoofer bass system if you want solid, in-room bass response. The KEF Q11 Meta towers and two or more RSL Speedwoofer 10S subs is a good solution. Besides being a damn good subw

Floorstanders that don’t need a sub, $2k or less.

The KEF Q11 Meta have a port tune around 34Hz. So you're closing in on full-range. I wouldn't say they are very sensitive to positioning. But if you want stronger response below 50Hz, you probably do want to place them closer to the wall: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/kefq11meta

Bookshelf or Towers for a Desk

I will tell you as someone who’s tried both, if your desk is solid go with bookshelves on stands. I found towers to be difficult in near field situations as half the drivers are blocked from my desks obstruction and placement is difficult. If you can put them far away, I’d keep it that way and go wi

$150 Sony towers vs KEF R3 Metas

I have q11 metas, and when I was using my nad c328 which is I think 50w into 4 and 8 ohm they sounded okay I guess. I upgraded to a Yamaha as801 which is I think 100w into 8 and 185w into 4 and ya they really came alive then. Kef need a decent bit of power to work as they should.

Hired a professional to setup my room/speakers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I took as advantage of the Magnolia closeout to buy my KEF Q11 metas. Love them.
