Ditched the soundbar - best move ever

Went from Sonos arc + sub setup to a Kef LS60 + Kef sub. It’s 3x the money but has literally created a new type of activity I didn’t know I could have at home. That is, just sitting on the sofa exactly like I would be if I were attending a concert. On the “improvements” advice, the one and only thin

Thoughts on LS60 vs R11?

I've owned the LS60s for the past ~8 months and highly recommend them. The LS60s can go lower (31hz at +-3db), while the R11 can get to 46hz. Means realistically you can use the LS60 without subs, while with the R11s you'll want to add a sub. The 8 force cancelling woofers on the LS60s are no joke!

KEF LS60 First thoughts

Really depends on what you want / what you already have. I tried out the LS60 / LS50 Wireless and then the LS50 Meta. If I didn't already have everything (amp, pre, receiver, etc) I would have absolutely gone with the KEF active speakers. Out of all of them, I really love the LS50 Meta (and the R3 M

Kef active speakers advice

The Kef app was buggy with the LS50 Wireless. They fixed the bugs in the LS50 II wireless but not for mark 1 users, who where left in the cold. LS60 dropped in price since launch and are end game speakers with or without the KC62 subwoofer. They can pump out 111db which is rock concert loud. The LSX

LS50 Meta or Wireless II

For a give cabinet and drivers the active speakers give a greater range, more bass and lower cost than the passive version. LS50 Meta with an amp that is in total double the cost of the Kef LS50 II wireless is claimed to be better. Kef themselves claim that they could not make a passive version of t

My Current Setup (KEF LSX II LT + Kube 10) — Debating LS50 Wireless II vs Staying Put and Saving for LS60

The LS60 have gotten some great reviews by some. However, they are $6k new, and probably around $3k used. They are a great all in one simple solution that many are after. However, some may not want to be stuck in an active system and choose to go with separates. In the used market I've seen things l

Ls50 wireless 2 or, ls50 meta+marantz m1

I’ve not had any of that experience. iOS updating hasn’t meant I need to use the KEF app. I did get a new wifi router a couple of years ago and needed to change the settings then, but the app worked fine in that one instance. I heard terrible things about the app for the version 1 speaker, but the v

Best used speakers between $3,000-$4,000?

Aurum Cantus V8F. I have the V7F model. They weigh 99lbs each. They have four absolutely enormous non-ferrous binding posts that just speak to the quality. Gorgeous finish. Unwoven carbon fiber drivers and a real ribbon tweeter. Similar cabinet design to your Vandersteens just not as exaggerated. I

LS50 Wireless II + KUBE 15 MIE or used LS60

I believe the LS50 W2 plus a subwoofer is well regarded by everyone; however the size of your living room will matter greatly in your decision. For me the LS60 was the better choice since it’s much better overall and for 500 extra you are getting a much better system in a box. However the LS60s with

Are Kef speakers all that good? {LS60}

I would go so far as to say that for $7,000, you won't find a speaker and amp combination that sounds better than the LS60 Wireless. Add in a KEF KC62 sub, and it becomes perfect.
