Are Kef speakers all that good? {LS60}

These aren't conventional speakers that you wire up to a receiver. They are for a different use case. Part of their expense is justified because these are more than just passive speakers. They include multiple hundreds of watts of amplification, and support a variety of sources and wireless streamin

This close to getting the LSX II LT ... unless I should get the LSX II ?

I have LSX II paired with KC65 in my office and it’s such an amazing set up. I literally can’t wait every day till I get the chance to listen to them. Music, movies, YouTube, games - all sounds fantastic on them. I have them connected via usb-c to my mac mini and never use the wireless mode. Yes, in

What speakers are these?

I mean, sure it has Bluetooth. It also has Wi-Fi streaming, Roon, optical, AirPlay, etc. Just calling it a Bluetooth speaker is like calling the KEF LS60 Bluetooth speaker. Technically correct, but really misses the mark.

LS50 Wireless II or wait?

Kef LS50 I to II was because of the low performance of the processor board and lots of software limits. Most issues were solved in the new processor and software improvements but left Mk I users in the cold. I have a spreadsheet of active speakers with specs and sizes at www.mcmullon.com/activespeak

Passive alternative for LSXII LT?

It doesn't "defeat the purpose" of the speaker IMO. KEF's wifi connectivity and streaming capabilities suck. That's unfortunate. But IMO, that's not the reason to buy the LSX, LS50W, or LS60. The real benefit of these speakers is that they are fully active speakers. That's not the same thing as a po

LS50 With Wiim Ultra or LS50 Wireless II

I bought a pair of KEF LS60s then a few months later a pair of R3 Metas with a WiiM. I wanted to understand the difference and education is expensive. This year I bought a Buckeye amp with a Bluesound Node ICON for the same reason - is the WiiM under powered? Is the DAC in the Bluesound better? Does

LS60 for movie question

I believe KEF recommends having the LS60 connected straight to the tv via HDMI, with the tv set on eARC and its sound output set to PCM. This way the tv outputs pretty much the exact formats that the LS60 expects and less is lost in unnecessary conversions. My setup is like this and the dialogue sou

My Current Setup (KEF LSX II LT + Kube 10) — Debating LS50 Wireless II vs Staying Put and Saving for LS60

The LS60 have gotten some great reviews by some. However, they are $6k new, and probably around $3k used. They are a great all in one simple solution that many are after. However, some may not want to be stuck in an active system and choose to go with separates. In the used market I've seen things l

Ls50 wireless 2 or, ls50 meta+marantz m1

I’ve not had any of that experience. iOS updating hasn’t meant I need to use the KEF app. I did get a new wifi router a couple of years ago and needed to change the settings then, but the app worked fine in that one instance. I heard terrible things about the app for the version 1 speaker, but the v

LS60 easy to knock over?

Hi! I actually run all my music through Roon - mostly a local library comprising my ripped CDs and some digital downloads with Tidal integrated for streaming. The LS60 is Roon enabled, so connects and works seamlessly For the measurements I just used the HomeCurve App on my iPhone 17pm against a Har
