HomePods as a Stereo Pair for TV?
It would cost more, but I’d highly encourage you look into a pair of powered KEF speakers. They just released a set for $1000 called the CODA W. Those will crush a pair of HomePods and they also still have AirPlay built in so you aren’t losing any functionality (except Siri I guess).

KEF LSX ii vs Coda W - anyone had a side by side
I tested them both at the KEF showroom recently. I came in intending to buy the LSX but after the salesperson showed me the Codas, which I wasn’t even considering, it was an easy decision: the Codas. The overall sound profile is similar, a bit more warmth with the Codas. Bass extension is much lower

Kef Coda W/LSX II LT vs Q150 with Wiim Ultra
Not sure which option OP went with. I was in a similar choice dilemma. Ordered the Kef LSX II LT online from costco for $799. They were not available in any of the stores. Simultaneously bought the KEF Coda W from a local store (Visions Electronics) for $1098 and connected that with a wiim mini thro

Kef LSX II LT or Coda W
Not sure about discontinued, but i've seen a shift away from selling them via audiophile channels to mass sales via costco. whereas the LSX II are still selling at high cost audio-oriented sites, at 3x the price of the 'LT' version. I agree with you that the Coda have larger drivers, a larger cabine

Klipsch The Sevens Alternatives
I would go with small towers such as Q Acoustics M40 or Triangle LN05A, JBL 4305P or Kef Coda W for bookshelves.

Is no soundbar a huge mistake?
Soundbars on the whole aren’t very good. There are much better options for similar money. The KEF Coda W is a pair of Active stereo speakers with HDMI input. There’s also the smaller KEF LSX Wireless II or LT. There are other active speakers with HDMI of course but that’s what’s on my radar at the m

Kef Coda W/LSX II LT vs Q150 with Wiim Ultra
I was deciding between the Coda W and LSX II LT for my space too. Ended up going with the Coda W because it was a small space and I didn't want a sub (yet). The Coda W sounded very well-rounded with excellent bass response without a sub - even my picky, musically trained fiancee was happy with the C

Got it, thank you. I also have no way to tell if that is legit but I can say that there is at least 1 US retailer that has them for the same price and that retailer is definitely legit. They're good speakers but it will depend a bit on your room, listening differences and your overall budget. You're

System for my dear Mom
The new KEF Coda W is right around your budget. Bluetooth connectivity, wireless speakers. All you need is a plug. They're not really portable though, not sure if that's important to you? Maybe she can keep her current little Bluetooth speaker to carry around and be mobile, while having rhe KEF spea
