Edifier R1855DB + T5: Over 40 Days, Money Lost, and Trust Destroyed (#101306)
Yeah, I had the same feeling with the Edifiers, especially the mids. They have that classic V-shape tuning: boosted bass and highs, recessed mids. I get why it sells, but for me, the vocals never sounded truly alive, like they were slightly hollow or coming through something. I spent a lot of time t

Edifier R1855DB + T5: Over 40 Days, Money Lost, and Trust Destroyed (#101306)
Hey man! Funny story. Back then I was recommending people check out Kanto YU6 (and a few others like Audioengine A5+, Fluance Ai81, Vanatoo) as the next step up, but I couldn’t resist and ended up buying the YU6 myself (black). And damn, after getting everything hooked up properly, this 2.1 system w

best affordable preamp
I had the R1700BTs to try...boxed them right back. The Kanto YU was so much better if I was going active 4". The Kanto YU6 would be really dandy I bet, add a sub of choice, Kanto's or another small one like a Polk and would sound really delightful in the correct sized [smaller] room. Natually upgrad

New to Vinyl and looking for help
Try Kanto YU6 and their sub. I tried the YU [4" ] and was enjoying the clarity and overall sound quality was what I'd call nice. A subwoofer really adds richness. The YU6 has a phono stage for the turntable and some optical inputs for cd playing. $399 and sub is whatever 200 or 349 model you want.

What speakers do you use in your bedroom?
Wall mounted Kanto YU6s with an SVS PB1000 in the corner. The sub was a deal I couldn’t pass up, so I made it work. A little overkill, but it definitely fills in the gaps.

Are these speakers worth it?
I have those already so asked the Ai for the difference, here's what it said: Here’s a straight comparison between the KEF LSX II LT speakers you’re looking at from Costco and the Kanto YU6 powered bookshelf speakers — to help you decide which sounds better for your needs: 🔊 Sound Quality & Performa

Stereo HomePods for… turntable??
As the Behringer UFO is giving you line out a pair of Edifier powered speakers from $100 might provide more bass and a better stereo. Going for Edifier r1280bs with the option of adding a sub-woofer might be sufficient and affordable whilst not increasing the clutter. Going for Klipsch the Fives whi

First turntable advise
I think the Kantos look better in testing. If you desire more bass they even have a matching sub. Here’s some testing on them: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/kanto-yu6-measurements-powered-monitor.27342/

Sound advice - subwoofer required?
Rega Planar 3 (Planar 1 or 2) off ebay, Kanto Yu4 or Ora 4 but only go down to 60Hz. REN and YU6 are better (50Hz). Adam Audio D3V (48Hz) desktop analogue and USB-C only inputs. But you can get old (1990) active floor standing speakers for the same money lacking modern wireless streaming but far mor
