From my experience, larger speakers always sound better. While the Kali IN5 and IN8 have similar low‑frequency extension on paper, the IN8 has significantly lower distortion. I have been using Kali Audio LP8 V1 for the last few years and they are great and come in under the budget. The V2 IN-8 would be an even bigger fuller sound. The front porting is great.

I really like my Kali Audio monitors. Very good value across their lines. For $900, you can get a new pair of IN-5, or for $1000, a pair of IN-8s, which are great three way speakers. You might try those and if you find the bass lacking, add a sub. Or for $600, you could do their LP-8.

Kali IN-8. Don’t be fooled by their low price, they fight in a much higher price category. 3-way, coaxial mid+tweeter, and 8” woofer below 280Hz I think. Great neutral monitors. Pretty large for a nearfield though, so the IN-5 might be worthy of consideration as well. Only 2Hz less low end extension

Focal Alpha 65 Evo is a good shout, in my opinion. Focal is pretty 'fun' sounding but you can still make mixes that translate well.
