What do we need with a digitone 2 ?
Maschine mikro might be a bad move. Maschine goes with a specific software, its going to change his workflow quite a bit. Your idea is good, digitone + sampler is a great combo, but pairing 2 machines is an important decision. Maybe you should buy him a gift card in a music shop so he can choose wha

Studio Monitors
Kali audio LP 6’s! Look on the used market I’ve seen them pretty cheap (2-250ish for a pair). Try to go for the 2nd wave if you can! First gen’s tend to have a bit of a hum when no audio is playing. Best bang for your buck though IMO!!!

Hi I'm Logan, owner of Panama Sound a small home-based project studio. AMA!
Well, it's funny but I don't have any acoustic treatment here. Some people think that's crazy, but this also has to serve as a livable home. I have Kali Audio LP-6 monitors and I use Sennheiser HD600 for headphones.... but the secret weapon is the Avantone Mixcube (it reveals all the places in the m

Looking to start doing home recording. Any recommendations on equipment, mics ect? Thanks in advance!
Soundproofing is unnecessary unless you need to limit noise between your playing area and the rest of the house. What you need is treatment for that space which is usually a mix of absorption and reflection, but in confined space I'd lean more towards absorption. Packing blankets are very cost-effec

Editors, What kind of speakers are you using to mix audio with.
You can for sure get a pair of professionally-decent audio monitors for $300-$500 US. They won't be great and I wouldn't use them to finish audio for Netflix or whatever, but for most corporate work, YouTube, and lots of other stuff, there are a bunch of good options. Here's a slight edit of a post

What is the best studio monitor money can buy for a small bedroom studio?
Kali Audio Lp6 is not the best money can buy but an incredible bang for your buck in quality of sound and versatility. They have a ton of configuration for fitting small and weird shaped rooms.

Which 8" monitor is the best?
To be clear, I am not talking about distortion. I am talking about directivity. Which is frankly too much for me to cover properly in a Reddit comment. So you can reread what I wrote above and look up loudspeaker directivity yourself if you're actually interested in the topic. This doesn't really ha

Advice on studio monitors for guitar and bass?
I find Kali Audio LP-6 to be a good deal. They sound great, are built very well, front ported, have great adjustments on the back to fit your room and are geuinely not that expensive considering what they offer.
