Editors, What kind of speakers are you using to mix audio with.

You can for sure get a pair of professionally-decent audio monitors for $300-$500 US. They won't be great and I wouldn't use them to finish audio for Netflix or whatever, but for most corporate work, YouTube, and lots of other stuff, there are a bunch of good options. Here's a slight edit of a post

Speakers for techno / heavy bass - budget friendly

what JBL speakers do you have? Active monitors I assume? For good bass you will need a sub with 80 hz crossover. So it takes care of any frequency at and below 80hz, and monitors will take care of higher frequencies. This will add deep bass to your sound and more importantly open up your monitors wh

Speaker Question / Looking for Sound Quality

Definitely get a sub with 80hz crossover. It will allow monitors to work on optimal frequencies. JBL LSR310S 10-inch is decent.

Yamaha HS4 Subwoofer compatibility?

Sure, get a studio sub like a JBL LSR310S. You run interface to the sub and then sub out to the monitors. Use REW to make measurements and dial it in. Works great.

FRFR vs studio monitors + sub for guitar (6/7 string) and 5-string bass on Quad Cortex?

Good monitors and a sub will play full range just great plus give good stereo imaging and sound much better for music and other media. Add a JBL LSR310S, they go on sale cheap often.

How do I get rid of a 30db null in my room?

Absolutely, made some experiments and putting a single speaker below the desk seems to be the way to go. There are still distortions all over the room, but the room is neither a studio, nor am I knowledgeable enough to fix them. At least the huge null is gone at ear level, much smaller and moved up

Monitors (around $1000) best for accurate mixing?

I feel that the majority of the issue is just in my ability to mix though Yeah, the speakers you have have enough clarity and detail to get most work done. So it's very likely a skill issue, which is perfectly normal. the main reason i want new monitors is that my current ones can sometimes make my
