Had been using jbl studio 530s and 305p mkIIs, but both needed to be about a foot away and this setup needs them close to be at ear level. JBL 305P. It's a known good performer that's used by professionals in the industry. If the bass gets overwhelming in a small room you can always stuff the ports. Room gain will compensate for the reduced lows.

Never seen this! I had some jbl companions years ago. Saw a list on here and picked both jbls up (305p mkii and 530 studios) based on it. Those did fine until I tried up close. Thanks for sharing this, I may look for others in the future
