Roomba Max 705

I have not really much to add here since i have a completely different approach regarding cleaning performance tests. Vacuumwars does mainly some sweeping tests (the only more vacuuming weighted test is their cravis test that they for whatever reason do not attach much value anymore in their rating

My i7+ was 10x the robot vacuum the disaster of a Max 705 I currently have is. I’m on my third replacement since I bought it in October last year. I feel you.

I had the 705. To start with the good: it cleaned great imo. I have a long-haired dog. Doesn't shed, but takes a lot of mud, sand and leaves into the house. Imagine if they evolved the s9 series into having a roller and mop. I still think the s9 is “peak” roomba and had A LOT of potential. I remember in 2019 when my mom got the s9 and m6 combo, they looked so sleek and the performance on carpet was insane. Then they “downgraded” back to the round design

Hi! Fellow long time Roomba owner with four dogs. I’ve just replaced at S9 with a 705 max. My S9 died - the motor head had gone out of warranty period and I either needed repair or replace. Seeing as the S9 was a replacement itself and not that old, I decided to get a new model - I went for the 705

Same issue here. My 705 combo will not cross any carpeted area if it’s in mop only mode. It only appears to use the mop cover and traverse carpet when in Vacuum & Mop mode. I’ve seen a few other threads with the same issue so perhaps it’s something iRobot could fix with a software update!

Just bought the roborock and am very happy with it. Pretty surprised at how well it worked. 10x better than the iRobot 705 max combo I bought and had to return within 2 weeks of use.

Sorry for the late response but just got a 705 combo today. Does the app no longer tell you a count of dirt events triggered or show you pictures object obstacles encountered? The roomba seems to do a better job cleaning but the app stinks (from what I’ve seen)
