Same issue here. My 705 combo will not cross any carpeted area if it’s in mop only mode. It only appears to use the mop cover and traverse carpet when in Vacuum & Mop mode. I’ve seen a few other threads with the same issue so perhaps it’s something iRobot could fix with a software update!

It should not mop carpeted surface or rugs regardless of what the job's map tells you. The map may look like it is doing mopping and vacuuming, but it really just shows where the Roomba cleaned during a Vac and Mop or Vac then Mop job. Sorry for the late response but just got a 705 combo today. Does the app no longer tell you a count of dirt events triggered or show you pictures object obstacles encountered? The roomba seems to do a better job cleaning but the app stinks (from what I’ve seen)
